I have a pretty standard set of stiff dg ap2's which have been fitted from 2 years ago.I have recently succumed to the lure of classic blades and bought 695 mb of ebay with stiff 6.0 rifle shafts. These are in great nick and I love the feel etc but they appear to be half inch short of standard....they have new grips so reluctant to tinker. My bad shot is a pull so what effect will these shafts have on my swing....5 handicap standard length clubs but 1 degree upright

they should be fine because a shorter shaft means that you will get more behind the ball causing a pull but with a more flat lie angle from your Ap2's that will cause the face to open so they should "cancel eatchother out" if you know what i mean causing a straight ball flight!  hope this helps

Here's the thing on shaft length and lie angle. Long shaft and upright lie angle causes a hook, draw or pull. You'll feel the club turn over at impact. Choking down 1/2 inch generally straightens out the shot if your lie angle isn't too far off. Short shaft and flat lie angle causes a fade, push or slice - assuming you take a normal stance. When you compensate by bending over and taking a flat swing your good shot is a pull with about 15 yards more distance than a straight shot. The true test is a tight lie on the course or a thin mat at the driving range.

Here is my 2 cents...if your miss is a pull then I feel your shafts are a little too stiff. DG S 300 in your old AP2's play softer than 6.0's. The extra stiffness will cause a pull.
