Differences between TVD and Spin Milled?

    Here's a basic one...

I'm looking for a 58 degree (TVD58 or Spin Milled 58-12...or 258-12 I guess) that I can use in a variety of conditions and open up more than I can with my current 58 degree wedge.

I'm wondering the differences in grinds that are available between these wedges - tough to tell from the site what the differences are, if any.

Also differences overall - is it just finishes and adjustments/custom options available? Looks like swingweights and grooves are the same on all 3 from the site...

(Would prefer CC also, although I know 2024 is a long way away!)

    Thanks all-

    Hi Norm,

There are three different grinds on those three wedges which are all slightly different:

Spin MIlled 58.12 -- this has an M grind, with high bounce and reduced camber.

TVD 58.08 -- This is a medium bounce wedge with a slighly narrower crescent shaped sole.

258.12 -- This wedge has an S Grind, which is a moderate trailing edge ribbon.  There is heel relief on this club but not the same amount of toe relief versus the two wedges above.

In addition, the 200 Series has a slightly higer toe peak and straighter leading edge vs. the 58.12.

The 58.12 is available in Tour Chrome, Black Nickel, or Oil Can (unplated).  The TVD wedges are available in Bright Brushed Chrome, Black Oxide (unlplated), and Oil Can Zero (unplated).  The 200 Series is available in Bright Brushed Chrome.

All of these wedges would have C-C grooves.

In terms of which wedge to buy, that would depend on your swing type and course conditions.  Are you a digger, slider, or neutral player?  The 258.12 and SM 58.12 would suit a digger or softer conditions.  The TVD is better suited for a neutral player or a slider.

We recommend you get fit for all of your wedges.  You can call us at 1-888-Titleist to find the nearest Titleist fitter.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Dave.

I have a Fitting Form from TItleist. It recommends the "Wedge" shaft for 2 different wedges. I'm assuming that flex refers to the Dynamic Gold Spinner Wedge shaft (although there was only the option on the Fitting Form for the fitter to select "Dynamic Gold", not "Dynamic Gold Spinner"?

I see a DG Spinner shaft as an option for the TVD 58.08 on the Vokey site, but not for the Spin Milled 58.12 on the Titleist site (though I assume it is an option?).

    Thanks again-

    Norm,

The "Wedge Shaft" refers to the Dynamic Gold S200 Shaft which we call "wedge flex".  The Dynamic Gold Spinner is a very different shaft with a different kick point.  The DG Spinner is available through WedgeWorks and also through our normal custom shaft offering.

All of the shafts that are available through WedgeWorks are also available on our in-line wedges (as a custom order).

    Hope that helps.
