I have read through several of the discussion posts, that Titleist will not be selling the surefit adapters by themselves.  I also understand that you can order a new shaft with the adapter attached from Titleist.  But can we the consumer send in a used favorite shaft and have Titleist install the surefit adapter to avoid having to purchase a new shaft?

  2. Hi Byron -

We would not be able to take a shaft from an outside source and install it with our SureFit adapter and into a 910 head.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I am a certifed club builder and the adapters on the 910 woods are easily removed with a shaft puller and a heat gun.  You will lose the ferrule and will have to replace it with a .570 OD collared ferrule.  You may also have to change the weight depending on the weight and length of the new shaft to get the swing weight you want.  It is not a difficult process and any good club builder could do that for you.

I had a situation where I re-shafted a 910 D3 driver and 910F 3 wood.  Both came out great but we need two 12g weights to get them to D2.  We got one from a weight kit but cannot get another separately.  This problem needs to be addressed by Titleist.  Having interchangeable weights is great IF you can get what you need without buying extra weights that you don't need.
