  1. What do you guys think between the two irons? Any experience with hitting both sets of clubs and any difference or similarities between the two.

    Any feedback would help.

    Thanks in advance

I have the Original AP2's and my next set would be the CB's Very solid with a little more workability.

You cant go wrong with either set.

Hey Mike my names Connor and i would say the CB because the look is better, even though its all perspective but the AP2 is a good iron dont get me wrong but to me the CB has a better sweet spot and feel.

I hit both at a demo day and personally did not care for the CB at all.  It felt clunky to me.  I actually just bought some AP2's and they arrived yesterday, so obviously have a personal preference to them.  The AP2 should give you great playability and (I think) more forgiveness.

As for similarities...I really don't see any.  They could not feel more different in my opinion.

Good question Mike. This has been in my mind as well for awhile now. I still play with the original 690 CB's. They are still good. My choice is also between these two irons when I do decide to upgrade. I've tried the AP2 and they do feel nice and easy to hit. But I believe they have a higher launch angle compared to the CB's. So think it just boils down to your ball flight preference.

My other thought would be the steel shaft. S300 for me feels heavy. I have R300 on my old CB's.

  7. Thanks for some feedback. I currently game the CBs and hit them ok, im just wondering how much forgiveness im leaving on the table with them. Any major difference in ball flight with the scoring clubs (8-pw) between the two sets? I don't mind a little higher flight in the mid and long irons, just concerned the short irons might balloon with the ap2s. Thats really the only negative feedback i've seen with the ap2's. If i get them i will definitely use s3 or 400 in them because i like the heavier shaft which would reduce some of the spin.

    Thanks

in think that the ap2s are much softer than cbs but the cbs are much more workable. they both look almost identical. its whatever feels right to you!

  9. I switched from Burner Plus to Titleist CB a month ago, have to admit its been a great clubs for me. Im current having a R300 shaft, a bit too heavy for me :P

I tried both CB and AP2 in a demo day, I perferred a classic look so goes for CB. Should AP2 have a little more forgiveness?

I was looking to switch from my RAC TP MB's to the 710 MB's and during the fitting I found out that my swing speed was still very good on my miss-hits with the 710 CB as opposed to both muscle-back versions so I went with the CB in my long irons (4-6, 1* flat) and MB's in my short irons (7-9, 2* flat). Maybe you can test them out from that perspective and see if the AP2's perform better in the long irons than the CB's and get a mixed set up as well. You might prefer the forgiveness in the AP2 in your longer irons and the workability of the CB in the short irons. They don't all have to match because each iron is designed for a specific swing and yardage and since they're forged you can dial them in to any loft and lie angle that works for you. It's all about confidence in the bag and shooting lower scores!

I have been wondering the same thing because I have the 755s which has a shock dampening feature, so I thought the AP2 would be more similar to the 755.   But, the CB has the look I like.  A smaller head and thinner topline. I plan on testing both next week.

I played AP2's for a couple of years and the clubs felt great.  The AP2 should launch slightly higher than the CB's though because of the weight at the bottom of the club...  I play the MB's now and it works much better for me trajectory wise.  I will agree with earlier though, at the end of the day pick the set that YOU think you'll hit better.. confidence goes a long way in ball striking.

I went from 690 MB's to AP2 710's.  I added KBS Tour shafts and have nothing but praise for this set.  I have no problems with the height of my shots, and these sticks are very playable.

I would suggest getting fitted and see what works best for you.  A split set is not a bad choice even if it's AP2 long irons and MB shorts.

    T. Tiger,

Im also coming from the 690 mb's. Have you seen any differences from the 690 mbs to the AP2's?

    MIcheal,

I have been very pleased with the AP2's.  I had to relearn some shots that were easier with the blades, but overall no loss in distance and playability is very nice.  Both sets were custom fitted and built for me.  Same specs for each set, just different shafts in new sticks (KBS Tour)

II have been very happy with my AP2's as well. I made the move from Cobra's and have not looked back. The playability of the AP2's is amazing.

    Anything you want :)  But seriously I would go with a combo set of MB's and CB's. 789PW MB's 456 CB's.
