Is it only between the ears or ?

I bought a set of 710 AP2's a couple of moths ago, based actually on hitting a 6 iron from the fitting cart, with several shafts and lengths and ended up being fit for these.

So far so good, and I am playing them now more than most people do, (almost every day) ..... I like the long and mid irons very much, but I kind of miss a solid feel in the shorter irons 8, 9 and PW ...... of course I have hit some great shots with these, but I think of feel that I am missing something in these.

I know there are lots of AP2 users out here ...... is it me, or do you also have this feeling ?

I am planning to replace the 8 - PW, by 710 CB or 710 MB .....

No problems with feel at all on my set.  KBS Tour shafts 1/2" long.

    Got no complaints with them.

For me it was an adjustment period:  i switched from 762s with Rifle Flighted 5.0s to AP2s with Project X 5.5 based on my fitting.  It was quite the adjustment but I'm hitting them much better now and wouldn't go back.  Anyone and everyone serious about their golf needs to go get fit.

I had similar issues with AP2's loved the 6,7,and 8, 9-pw lacked the feel. Went to more of a blade type iron with 8,9 and pw( Callaway X prototype)

Was hard to keep the ball down and control trajectory with the short irons. Have hit the CB 710's and those are awesome too. First I would get a 200 series Vokey PW, 46 or 48. See if that solves it. If not it will be easy to sell.

I think it's a bit of preference here. I have had my ap2's for about 3 months and they don't feel quite as soft as a blade in the short irons, bit of a firmer feel. At first I didn't like the feel of the short irons either but after a month or so I started to get used to the feel. So what I would say is if you is make sure your just not used to the feel yet and if you think that the feel is just not right for you, you can go get some cb's or mb's.

I have been playing my AP2's for just over a full season and don't notice much difference between any of the clubs. Project X Rifle 5.5's feel great. The only change I made was with the PW which I changed out for a Vokey 48 degree oil can. I have four wedges with this addition seems to be much more consistent feel with the wedges all being the same.

Yep just did the same, added a 48 Bob Vokey to replace the PW and will maybe even add a 46 (bent to 44) Bob Vokey to replace the 9 iron.

I play the AP2's and it did take a little while for me to get used to the different feel.  For me, not better or worse, just different.  I stuck with it and don't really notice it anymore.  I like the way Titleist make a different irons that do feel differently for a players personal preference.  Mixed sets are not uncommon these days...Enjoy!
