Is there any place I can go to get "properly" fit for driver, fairway and hybrids?.  I stand 6' 6" with a wrist height of 38-inches.   All of my older clubs and new irons are 1-1/2 inch over standard  length.  The problem that I am having is that the local fitting centres only have fitting carts with shafts up to 1/2-inch over-length and I think that this will adversely affect any launch monitor results for launch angle and spin.  Given the impact that the shaft has on the way a club behaves I would really like to have a a higher degree of confidence in what I get.

be careful when getting your driver extended too much as you will lose a lot of control, try playing around with the lie angle of the driver, perhaps by making it a touch more upright and with that 1/2 " you will find a combination to suit you...

When doing a hybrid fitting to someone like yourself i would suggest that if your irons are 1.5 inches over i would only suggest to get the hybrids extended a .5 to .75 inch since that they are longer than the irons that would be getting a better intergration of length and distance. with the fairway woods i would suggest a .5 inch over. driver you can do up to legal limit but would suggest maybe like a .75 inch over at worst case since it is the longest club in the bag but the driver is the most personal if you want to get overlength. hope that this helps with your fitting.

The two Ttileist centers on each coast could fit you.

I'm sure one of the staff will post the locations.

I was at the Mass fitting center last week for a full fitting and was AMAZED by the process.  I am a 2 handicap golfer with the set of ap2 ... I currently own- despite the struggles I have had with ball flight...   The fitting and techs helped identify the spin issues I had with the KBS shafts and moved to an X100 setup. now the spin is reduced, play better in windy conditions ( where I struggled the most) and have boring trajectory that lands softly.  WE found a driver combo (Im already playing a 910d2 w/ rip X ) that added 18 yards to my drives ( averaging 305) and dropped the spin from 3200 to 2400-  (D2 with Graphite design shaft)

I urge anyone serious about their game with the time and funds to make the journey- worth every dime!

Without knowing the lengths of the older clubs, new ones are often longer than 3 years ago.  Compare your length for a driver and 6 iron with the lengths of the newer clubs.  Several of the Cleveland Golf pros are using the new weight drivers, but at 45 instead of 46 inches.  For accuracy, you may be better with a 1/2 - 3/4  added length than the 1.5.  Besides the Titleist centers, Golf or Golf Digest had the "top 100" fitters around January.

While I'm the 'perfect' 5'10-1/2" for standard lie/length, I'm also left-handed and older.  My local Titleist fitter doesn't have all the head lofts for lefties that the carts have for righties but worked with what he had and I've add consistency and 20+ yards to my drives.  He ordered a loft he and shaft didn't have based on his experience and how I was hitting what he did have.  Worked out just great.
