    Hi Team Titleist,

I'm just about to order the 910 D2 driver from my local Pro-shop, but I'm having some troubles deciding loft and shaft. I'm hitting the ball a bit hard and pretty high.

My swingspeed is about 105 mph, and my 6-iron goes 185 yards.

I've tried both the 8,5 and the 9,5 degree clubheads with the Titleist 'ahina 72 shaft, and it's ok, but I think it spins a bit too much, and the 9,5 launches a bit too high, so I was wondering what the up-charge price is for the original Mitsubishi Diamana 'ahina 70? It should launch a bit lower and with less spin, right?

Or do you have any other solutions/suggestions?

I hope you can help me.

Thank you for your time and help!

    Best Regards

    Hi Magnus:

Assuming you don't have access to a fitter and monitor...we tend to see players with upright swings in lower torque shafts.  Players with flatter swings in higher torque shafts.  Launch and spin are affected more by loft and clubface than they are by shaft so I'd recommend trying that 8.5 again but in a B-1, C-1 or D-1 setting.

Tipping the Titleist Ahina 1" will create identical launch conditions as the unbranded Diamana and can possible lower launch and spin.

The Ahina 82 gram shaft is excellent as well.

RC is right on, launch & spin are effected more by loft of clubface than by type of shaft.  8.5 lofted D2 probably are better option based on your info in thread.

    All right, thanks guys!

I've chosen the 910 D2 8.5* with the 'Ahina 72 for titleist in a stiff flex. I found out that the flight was very nice after talking to my trainer. It is high but penetrating.

Now I have another question for you. The 8.5* clubhead that I tried and have been playing with lately is one of my friends from the golf club's old clubhead, and since he's playing on the European Tour, he has had everything fitted in the driver, so the weight screw in the driver is probably heavier than the standard (it is the one with the green color). I am starting to think that the club can be a little heavy to swing and on bad days, a little harder to control. Can the heavier clubhead be a reason for this or? And what are the effects/results when you change the weight screw in the clubhead?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

I am very close to your numbers.  I have 106-108 mph driver swing and 85-87 mph 6 iron.  I have tried all the shafts and I have the RIP 60 stiff.  I love it.  It is easy to control.  I have it set to the C4 setting.  It lays flatter and the loft is perfect.
