Is the 906 wood really one of the best woods you can get ???

The Titleist 906 fairway wood was a bore through shaft design. It basically has a little more feedback than the new 910F fairways due to the bore thru shaft design. I just put my 906F in the closet as I now have the 910Fd fairway wood in the bag. The 906 has a small pear shaped head that looks very clean like all Titleist woods.
If your looking for a bargain and not wanting to pony up on the new 910 fairways, which are awesome, you should be able to find a 906 for a good price.

I'm using f2 13*, I used to have a difficult time getting the ball up, except off the tee. Off the tee I have considered dropping the driver and just use the f2. This year I seem to be hitting the f2 off the ground much better(fade only).
The f4 has a little bit lower and rearward cg, I have a 15.5, I believe the shaft was a poor match because I hit it way too high, easy to get off the ground. I am having a dgs300 put in it and I'll see how that works out. I think the feel of a well swung steel shaft is the best.
I bought a f2 15* NV 75 off ebay for $45 shipped, should be here by next wednesday, I expect this week(maybe even today).
Unlike the 904f, the 906f has the low point on the sole more toward the face, this makes it easy to hit a fade off the ground, the 904 I couldn't hit a fade off the ground.
So to answer your question, since I haven't tried 909 or 910, I say the 906 is the best I've ever hit.
Haven't tried an 18 or 18.5 and probably won't, I have a 585.h 17* that I believe is the perfect club.
To me, being able to hit a fade off the ground is of utmost importance, this may not be the case for you.
