  1. I have been fitted tsr2 driver and 3 wood which i love over the clubs i had before but cannot seem to find a nice forgiving hybrid in the range and was wondering if there are any older models that people find forgiving.. i have a g400 hybrid at the moment and is the only non titleist club in my bag which is annoying but just not geting on with anything else

I have a TS2 hybrid that I get along well with. I plugged a Graphite Design shaft into it and made it even better.
Tried the TSI but didn't work as well as my TS. Haven't tried the TSR yet.

Favorite hybrid still is an 816H1 19 degree even though I also have newer models in my bag of other lofts. It is just a powerful club whether in rough or fairway.

The 818h were great clubs with right shaft. The shaft is the secret. How many different shafts did you try at the fitting?

I agree on the importance of the shaft. It was quite some time ago so I do not really recall all the shafts I tried. At the time, I think my driver had the Mitsubishi Diamana white board, so I ended up with the Diamana D+90 Hy in stiff flex in the hybrid as it had some similar characteristics to other clubs in my bag.

I just was fitted with a Titleist TSR1 hybrid in 20*. It’s like a small 7 fairway wood and very forgiving. Best results with a little bit heavier HZRDUS red 4 gen light shaft.

Hard to imagine that between the 3 TSR model hybrids that there isn't one that works for you. I've been using the 2 model forever, but finally had to go with a TSR-1 (with the stock light shaft) and it is far better than the 818 it replaced. ....For me.
  8. I have a TSI1 20 degree set at c4 (21 degree) that I swapped the shaft for a tensei blue 65 and cut down half inch from standard. If I could only keep 1 club in my bag this would be the one. Can hit anywhere on the face and it goes far and straight. I've considered buying a backup head just in case I can't find anything down the road that hits this well. I've hit TSR2 and its okay forgiveness but NOTHING like this TSI1. I can hit it 220 carry on a full swing or choke up a bit and its a 205 club 4 out of 5 are within 10-15 yards dispersion with the other being an occasional hook. Smash factor always around 146-149 with this hybrid even on toe hits!

I will be playing TSR1 hybrids, 23*, 26* and 29* this year. Longest iron might be a T200 9-iron. I really like the look of the TSR1 hybrids, and they are now easier to hit for me than T350, of which I have a 7-iron that I doubt I will use. I have always been a sweeper and a pretty good fairway wood player, and at 71 I believe this hybrid set up will be the best.

    Also TSR1 12* driver and TSR1 5-wood.
