    Hi,

I wonder if anybody can help shed any light on this for me, I have managed to get my hands on a rare prototype shaft on a 909 D3 driver from a club pro with very close contacts with the European Tour.

The shaft is a Graphite Design YS-9 exclusive Titleist Prototype in black

I have tried to search more info on this shaft but it is not listed anywhere even on the manufacturers site.

Any help or further details i would be very grateful.

    Adam

the YS-9 is for faster swing speeds or people that have a lot of spin with their driver. The YS-8 is a Mid to high kick point with a mid to low launch. the 9 is a high kick point with a low launch. its basicly a little heavier and stiffer that a ys-8. Its a Slightly older shaft it came out around about 5 years ago. its still a great shaft.

  3. Hi Adam -

The shaft mentioned is probably an early (2001-2002) prototype graphic version of the long parallel YS-9 that was initially offered only to our tour players. The name was changed to YS-9.1 when it was offered to the market. So this shaft must have been "liberated" from our tour support vans a few years back.

  4. Pretty neat. Now, if we only knew who's shaft it was for originally. Is there any way to find this out?

I have no idea, but as you say, it would be great to know which Pro has previously swung this club.

I'll see if i can get in touch with the previous owner to see if they can shed any more light on the driver.

Maybe the Registration code on the driver may hold a clue, if there is anybody out their with access to previously registared clubs.
