    hello,

i am a 12 handicap and currently play a set of very forgiving cavity back irons, i was thinking of making the switch to the ap2's, and was wondering if this would be a good idea, or if they would not be forgiving enough.

    thank you,

    john

I'd go with the AP1's. They are almost the same as the AP2's except they have a bigger face, more forgiveness, and much easier to hit. They are also a couple of hundred dollars cheaper.

I am also a 12 handicap  have been playing the ap1's for 2 years Very forgiving. They are not as pretty looking down at the club head due to the fatter blade. The higher cost is  a factor.  Get a demo set from your local club pro and go hit a few.

I was worried that I wasn't "good enough" to use AP2's (about a 9 handicap), and I love the AP2.  Very nice club, but there's only one way to find out what clubs are right for you.  Get fit!

  5. My son purchased a set of AP2 irons from a "less than reputable" source. Is there a way to validate if the serial number on th 6-iron is legit? It is 1715568.

Regardless of the answer, we have learned a valuable lesson about dealing with unknown sources!!

I am a 9 handicap and just recently purchased a set of AP1's. I hit them great and don't have trouble working the ball if I need to. The forgiveness of the club is great but it also has a better feel than some of the other "game improvement" irons out there. Either way (AP1 or AP2) you cannot go wrong. I would strongly advise going and hitting both before making up your mind based on looks.
