I seen on different forums many different views and I went to the USGA conforming list and very little info there. I love those blades and would like to use them to compete in some local events. USGA just says ATR(additional testing required) on all but my 6 iron which they say is non conforming. Any info from Titleist would be helpfull. Thanks alot

The grooves on the 681 irons are V grooves, but due to an older manufacturing process, some of the 681's may have an excess of polish that  did not allow a smooth emough groove at the edge to meet the new USGA standards. Therefore, the USGA will not say that the 681's are conforming.    If you are playing in a USGA sanctioned event, you may ask them to check your grooves as they will have that capability at all USGA events.  At most local events, the USGA groove rule is not in effect until 2014.
