Club flew off T200 iron

  1. I’m terribly disappointed in my purchase of the Titleist T200 irons. My 9 iron was used 3-5 times at the range before the club head flew off the shaft. I literally took the wrapping off the club moments before this happened. I purchased these clubs maybe two weeks ago. To rub salt in the wound, I had to pay for the repair. I’ll make a 2nd trip to Golf Galaxy tomorrow to pick up the repaired iron. I’m heading out of town Monday morning to play a few rounds so again, this is terribly inconvenient.

GG should have contacted Titleist - they would offer to fix or replace during the first year for any manufacturing defect. You can still call customer service for Warranty, Care, and Return. You deserve better.

I agree with Don. Sounds like Golf Galaxy should have been more proactive.
Problems are unfortunate but will happen. That's when the folks at Titleist shine. Give customer service a call. They will take care of you.

I also had 2 clubs that needed to be reglued, I also had a couple of the faces caved in which is very disappointing, these clubs are not cheap, what happens after the year is up and the faces cave in?
  5. This is so crazy, but my 9 iron literally did this yesterday. Didn't expect to see another 9 iron do the same thing!

I don’t think that would have happened if you were a righty!

Kidding... stuff breaks, I’m sure they’ll take good care of you if you get to the right person. I’ve had at least three head fly off different clubs over the years.

One of the very few unlucky ones. We had a extremely short period where there was an issue with the epoxy we were using. Give us a call at the following number and we'll get this squared away as soon as we can: 800-333-4200

I've seen this happen in the marine industry too. A bad batch of epoxy or a bad batch of gel coat. The marine manufacturer uses the same product they always use, but for whatever reason, the epoxy or gel coat maker supplies them with a bad batch, unbeknownst to anyone. The marine manufacturer goes ahead and uses it same as they always did, then finds out later there's a problem. Unfortunately it looks bad for the boat manufacturer and ultimately hurts their reputation, yet the maker of the epoxy or gel coat hardly pays a public relations price. I hate to see it happen to Titleist, but rest assured they will make it right.

People at TItleist are great, reach out and they will take care of you!
  10. I was playing my forth round with my new T300 irons, which I like very much, when the head of my 4 iron flew off. I sent Titleist an email but no response as yet (closed due to virus?). I don't doubt that Titleist will make it right. But if its a bad batch of glue what about the rest of the clubs!

I had the head of my 9 iron come off not long after purchasing my T200 irons. My local pro repaired it at no cost. Then not long after that the head of my P/W came off. The whole set was then sent back to Titleist for repair and a total re-build. That was last October since then they’ve been fine.
I was initially very disappointed but the service received from Titleist was brilliant, exactly what I would of expected from them.

  13. I had the head of my T-MB 2 iron fly off just before the courses all shut. Sadly the head flew into a lake so I won't be repairing it.

Had the same thing happening to my custom fitted T200 4-iron (built in the UK) just a week ago, had to go find the clubhead on the driving range... The 4-iron is easily the club I hit the least in my iron set.

Went back to the shop, they glued it back on free of charge. No big deal, as long as it doesn't keep happening to my other irons as well.

For those that had the head come loose from the shaft, I just received a tracking number from Fedex. My replacement clubs are enroute mad will be here tomorrow. A huge thank you to Titleist. Not only do you produce superior clubs, but your customer relations is second to none. #Titleistloyalist.

Super unfortunate but nothing is perfect. I’ve had lesser quality stuff last a long time and high quality stuff crap out on me. So far, my 714 AP2s have been stellar!
  17. I have had 4 of my T-200 irons fall apart. I am not sure how it could be just bad epoxy but at $1200 for a set of irons I would like my money back.

Your dealer can contact Titleist. They will make you whole. The set will be returned and they will repair or replace to fully guarantee their work.

Do you store your clubs in a hot spot, either a garage or car trunk? I've had one head come loose, but I was at a Women's USGA Open where the ambient temperature was 104 and the clubs were in the trunk in a car parked on a blacktop parking lot w/o shade for 3 days prior to playing. ...Lesson learned.

Also, hopefully you didn't buy them on an internet site that shipped from China. They would be forgeries.

Ok Things happen and to spend $1200 for a set would be very frustrating. All of this sounds like a bad batch of epoxy.

But look at the bright side.....you are dealing with a company that has great service, is very responsive and cares about their customers.

  20. I’m very disappointed! Have been a proud owner of Titleist clubs for 20 years. Last December I purchased a full set of T200 irons and since have suffered 3 failures of the epoxy that bonds the shaft to the clubhead. All failures occurred on clean strikes. I have a set of MB irons purchased new in 2006 and never had a single issue. As I am getting tired of taking them to Dicks for repair, I’ll fix them myself with beaded epoxy. What happened to the quality? Love the irons but who needs the headaches that go with them. I had to play the last 11 holes in an event yesterday without a 5 iron. My set of T200’s cost 1400$. Not a happy customer here.

John N, as stated above by Allan, they found out after the fact that the epoxy was bad and since have corrected it. It would be the entire set of irons. You should have Dick's (since you bought them there) send the entire set back for repair. If you keep addressing each iron individually, eventually you will go past the length of the warranty. Titleist had no way of knowing this was going to happen but has agreed to make it right. Take them up on the fix all at once and you can then play all your irons with confidence that they will be good for a long time. Allan also provided a phone number. Call them.

The same thing happened to my T200 4 iron. Call Titleist directly. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
  23. Titleist is shipping a new set of irons for me. I took the complete set to Dicks after receiving a reply from Titleist Customer Service. Thanks Titleist!
  24. A brand new set of T200 irons from Titleist was just received. Thanks very much for the excellent customer service. I can’t wait to do a Tsi driver fitting! Thanks to Wally at Dicks in Grafton WI for taking great care of me as well!

Great communiction from Alan. Titleist will make it right. As Dale stated, get the entire set looked at.

  26. Titleist is the class of the industry, excellent clubs and even better customer service! I can’t wait to do a driver fitting in April for the Tsi drivers. A little too cold and snowy in WI right now, and I prefer to try them outside in the real world!

Not an iron but my tsi3 cracked right where the adapter tip is glued on. Only used it for 8 rounds and a couple times on the range.

Had a return authority setup and head and shaft sent back to titleist in aus. Just waiting for it to come back! Guy at my local proshop mentioned something about a batch of clubs with the epoxy issue

Reading about the issues with the epoxy and wondering if there is a way to be proactive to see if a set was in the bad batch or not? I have a new set of T200s and 3 Vokey wedges in the bag that arrived in December and have not had a chance to play because of Iowa winter. It would be nice to know that I won’t be running into an issue once golf season gets here.
  29. First my 7 iron T200 head flew off, months later, my 8 iron head flew off.
I contacted Titelist and now I have to send them back to inspect and epoxy heads (I hope). Now I have to be without clubs until they’re returned. Im so disappointed. Good customer service would have…
    1. Sent me replacement to use
    2. I send my clubs in box received with replacements.
    3. I receive repaired clubs.
    4. I send back replacements.
I guess i live in a world that doesnt exist anymore.
  30. Brand new, third time out and the back plate on my seven iron is gone after playing nine holes. Back of the face is tacky where the insert used to be. I was loving them til this... Noe not so sure.
