Titleist Thursdays are in full force with new T-Series Irons, TS Hybrids, and U•Series utility irons. We're already seeing some chatter on the boards so thought it could be beneficial to start a thread to get everyones thoughts in one place.

We'd love to hear how your fitting went. It could also be beneficial to the wider group to share what you're currently playing and how it performed against what you tested. Any surprise performers? We've noticed new TS hybrids have been wowing golfers who traditionally wouldn't even consider playing a hybrid. Or perhaps U•500 or U•510 are helping you round out the top of your bag?

Whatever your experience, share it here!

*Titleist Thursdays are free fitting events nationwide. Find an event near you: TITLEIST THURSDAYS

Two past fittings at The Grand in Del Mar with Travis Ordonez. Got me in my T-MB's in 2017 and my TS3 late last year. He does an excellent job, I highly recommend anyone in the San Diego area book one at The Grand.

I also had my fitting with Travis Ordonez. He did an outstanding job. I had hoped to be fit into one of the sets in the 718 AP series but these were not offered or available at the fitting. However, I was tested for a fitting into the T100, 200, and 300. I was told I would most likely not even be able to order the AP series any longer. For my swing, the fitter recommended a blend of the T100 for the 6-PW and the T200 for the 4 and 5 irons. The fitter told me that my shots with the T100 7 iron could have been covered by a beach towel. He showed me the results on a note pad or IPad (whichever) to prove to me the accuracy with the T100. Of note, I did produce incredible distance (for me) with the T200 7 iron at 190 (high-end overall distance) with a swing speed between 88 and 92. I was told by the fitter this was too much distance and that I didn't want to hit my PW at 150. Of course, the fitter's intent was to select the irons based on acceptable gapping and angles of descent. Anyway, both the T100 and T200 felt really smooth and elicited my response of "that felt really good" immediately after hitting each ball. I didn't care for the feeling of the T300. For me, the bottom line is, newer technology and materials definitely will increase my overall distance and accuracy. My older model clubs were no match for what is available today. My outdated set of irons that were hindering my distance. I didn't opt to wait for the T series release. I ended up purchasing a new set of 718 AP1 (I wanted improved distances) 4-PW, 48 and could not be happier. My distances have vastly improved and I can still work the ball. Thanks Titleist!!!

  5. I had my Titleist Thursday fitting last week with Brent Duncan at Indian Springs in New Jersey. I have had several fittings with Brent both at my private course and at Titleist Thursday events. Needless to say, I think extremely highly of him and have had nothing but positive experiences.

As for the clubs, I'm coming from 716 AP2's 5-PW and a 718 T-MB 4i all with KBS Tour FLT's. I was interested in trying the T100's, T200 and U500. We started with the T100's. I was particularly interested in trying the KBS $-Taper as the long irons with my FLT's can sometimes get a little spinny and balloon. While it felt much smoother than the C-Taper, it was still a little harsh for my liking. We ended up with the KBS Tour Stiff, which is very similar to the FLT's. They felt amazing. I then tried the T200 which looked great, sounded great, and really exploded off the club face. Finally, I tried the U500 4i with the Hzrdus Smoke Shaft. That club was unbelievable in terms of looks, sound, feel and distance. I didn't fixate on the numbers but I know I had some reasonable gains particularly with the U500.

So in the end we landed on the following: U500 4 iron, T200 5 iron bent 2 degrees weak, T100 6-PW. If history is any indication of the future I should have the new sticks around the end of the month.

Brent’s a pretty good guy, i got fit by him in 2017 at Indian Spring. - the only thing bad was hitting off the mat.
  7. They do have a grass section now which isn't too bad. Not a fan of mats either.

I recently went a few weeks ago and always enjoy seeing the same fitter, Michele. She's been fitting me for few years now on Titleist Thursday's and she's fantastic. Always a great experience and enjoy our conversations.

This time around I tried the T200 and T300. T300 w/ the Nippo shaft was my set up. And LOVED the U500 2 iron, that thing is a beauty! I was very impressed how well the T300 performed when I hit the toe a little bit. Numbers were great and feel was even better. I'll probably do one more fitting before I make a decision.

Doing a Titleist Thursday is a great experience to try out the latest and greatest.

Reading these comments has me super excited about my fitting next week for driver/fairway. I'm driving 80 miles to the nearest fitting center because I've never been fitted before and the stock clubs that I'm currently using are 6-7 years old. What an incredible opportunity offered by Titleist!
  17. Michael i promise that you will never regret that!

Last saturday i travelled 600miles with plane and 60miles with car for fitting and now i know i have best possible setup for me. It really was worth it

Had my fitting done at Golf Mart by Travis Ordonez. He was very thorough having me hit all the T200 irons to make sure I was going to be using the correct shaft. Even made sure my wedge and hybrid gapping was correct.
Loved that he took the time to practically do a full bag fitting for me, of course time was permitting. Currently play the AP3's and noticed improvement in distance with the T200's while taking an inch off the shaft length. Fitted into a Project X LZ shaft and ordered on the spot. Hope to have the T200's in hand before the weekend. This was my first fitting done by a Titleist Representative. Big difference when being fitted by a pro. Highly encourage everyone get fitted by a Titleist representative if your able.

Went yesterday, 8/29/19 to Harmon Golf, Rockland Ma. I booked online a iron fitting. When I arrived I could clearly see this place is busy. I made my way over to the Titleist canopy and let the fitter, Rob Sudduth, know I was there. While waiting for my turn I was amazed at how multi tasked Rob was. While trying to fit the person ahead of me he kept getting interrupted by people taking clubs and asking questions.
When it was my turn the interruptions continued. I do believe I was fitted right for the T300's. I had brought my previous 2 fitting results with me from Manchester Lane (714 ap1, 718 ap3). So I had it narrowed down pretty good to begin with.
I do feel Rob should have a assistant when doing fittings at a place such as Harmon Golf. The place is really busy. This way those who book online can get more of a undivided attention. Rob did do a great job under trying conditions.
I must be honest and state I drove away with some questions still unanswered. This was not Rob's fault. It was from all of the interruptions and my loss of train of thought while going through fitting.

My Titleist Thursday experience could not have been any better !! I met with Peter Clark in Nashville and I was amazed at his knowledge and patience during my driver/fairway fitting. I've never been fit for any of my clubs so I showed up with an open mind and allowed him to guide the session. After watching me warm up, he asked about my goals (forgiveness and straight flight more important than distance) and established a baseline with my current driver which has a regular flex stock offering. We tried several different loft and shaft combinations before settling on the TS2 driver with Kuro Kage Black Dual Core 50 stiff flex shaft. My attack angle is steep and the lightweight shaft with stiff flex was the perfect setup for me. He had me hit the TS2 fairway with 16.5 loft and Kuro Kage and the results were just as impressive. We had a few minutes remaining so I showed him by current Titleist 816 H2 hybrid and he recommended that I try the U510 utility with HZRDUS Smoke 80 shaft. I've always thought of utility clubs as weapons for guys with much higher swing speeds than mine (hovered around 94-95 with driver). This club was the biggest surprise- launched high and long whether I hit from turf or tee. Let the transformation of my current golf bag begin with the Driver/FWY/utility !! Thanks Peter Clark and #TeamTitleist

I was fit by John Dal Santo here in Indianapolis. Eye opening. I've played 2 degree upright clubs for as long as I can remember and have a tendancy to hit the ball left. Well the first thing he figured out was that my clubs were too upright. He asked if I had been fit off a lie board and I told him yes to which he responded "lie boards lie" :)

I am hitting the P790s right now. The t200 club was flying about 5 yards further with also more consistent distance. The mind blowing thing was I was hitting the t200 7 iron 15 to 20 feet higher in the air with better dispersion. So, higher, longer and tighter. Yeah I think I'll take that. We went through the 5 iron in the t200 and then found that a 21 degree metal wood was the best club for me gapping wise.

I cannot say enough good things about John Dal Santo and his fitting. He has absolutely changed my game with his knowledge and ability. He's a super great guy and really wants to make you a better player through proper fitting.

We did a driver and fairway wood fitting earlier in the year. I have a TS2 driver and 5 wood. I have never hit the driver better and the 5 wood I actually feel confident to use in any situation. Great club. We eliminated the 3 wood as we found it to be redundant and I was not hitting it high enough. After 15 years of an improper fit I finally found a fitter that has totally transformed my game. Cant thank John and Titleist enough for all their work.

John D. is one of the best. And a true 3-D iron fitting - better distance, dispersion, and descent angle. Enjoy all of the good birdie looks on the course!

I have been having fitting sessions with our local Titleist guy Geoffrey Walker for a number of years now. I met Geoffrey while doing a number of demo days and have trusted him not only with some members fittings but my own since then.

When the 716 series irons were released I was convinced that I would finally be fit for either a full set of AP2s or CBs. The fitting surprisingly showed that the MBs were still the best fit for me.

Fast forward to this years club release. I hit the new MBs and they certainly felt smooth! Distance and ball flight were very similar to my current set. We then tried the T100. What a great feeling club. Slightly longer with similar launch to the MB, at least for me. We dailed in the shafts and I thought that this was the club for me. Then Geoffrey suggested I try something a bit different, the CNCPT-02. This is a fantastic club. Ball speeds were up almost 9-11 MPH with every club I hit. We dialed in the shafts and I have to say that these are some of the best irons I have hit in over 30 years.

As soon as the shafts are available, the CNCPT-02 will be in the bag!

Was fitted recently by Bill Forbes, Titleist Product Specialist at Caledonia/True Blue, in Pawleys Island. He is my go to guy when I want a range fitting. Yeah, takes about an hours plus to drive up, but he knows the products and he always puts me in the right equipment. Have been going to him for years. This time wanted to check out the new T200 and T300 irons and maybe a new SM7 wedge. After an extensive fitting, trying both heads and many shafts, we settled on the T300 irons with the AMT Red R300 shaft 107g-95g (5-w53). I had always played S300 shafts and he convinced me thru positive results that it was time (at the age of 73) to move to R300 shafts. Great move, added about ten yards to my seven iron with less effort. Oh, no need for a new wedge, because I had picked an awesome 58.12D while at the Vokey Experience at Pinehurst this spring. Thanks Titleist for the Titleist Thursday and the Spring TT event. Now if this dang hurricane will get thru here and FedEx will deliver my new irons. They were supposed to be here Tuesday. Not your fault. Blame it on Dorian....... Cannot wait to get them dialed in and many thanks to Bill Forbes.....
  26. I've never done it, but I want to sooo bad. There seems to never be any near my area and it makes me mad. I've always wanted to try out the newest and latest golf clubs from Titleist, but I have never got the chance to.

I had a driver fitting last Thursday, 9/5/19, with Chris Speight at Regatta Bay golf club in Destin, Florida. All I can saw is WOW. I’ve been gaming a TM M2 driver for the past couple of years. Bought it off the shelf and have hit it well. Chris had me try the TS3 and immediately my ball speed jumped 12mph! We played around with many shafts and wound up with a H2D 60g +1/2 longer with the 9.5 TS3. My dispersion was tighter than my old driver and I gained nearly 25 more yards!! Chris did a great job and I will be going back for an iron fitting in the next couple weeks.

Well what an experience, my first ever Titleist Thursday at Strathclyde Park Golf Centre, Scotland. The Titleist staff (Alistair, Roddy and Joe), were superb fron start to finish, even putting up with my ongoing swing changes.

After hitting a few 7 irons with my newly bought “off the shelf” 718 AP1 regular steel shafted irons Alistair handed me the same club with a graphite shaft……after the first strike my fiance commented that the smile on my face said it all….unbelievable results. My 818 Hybrids were looked at next with some settings adjusted and TS2 7 wood suggested to fill in the gap between Hybrids and Driver.

Joe then suggested I switch from Pro V 1 to Prov 1 X or even the Velocity model all to help me achieve more height in the shot, as I do not create a lot of spin this would assist me stop the ball on the greens.

My thanks to the Titleist staff and my fellow TT members who suggested I attend a Titleist Thursday. I have already bookd a short game fitting at Gleneagles in May….now I await my new irons and 7 wood to arrive from St Ives….you have made an auld man very happy Alistair, I just cant wipe the smile from my face.
