    Hey everyone!

I am caught between purchasing the stock AP3 irons or spending the little extra cash and get the AP3 Black. I really like how the black irons look, but is it worth the extra $200+ for that?

    Looking at 5-GW to purchase.

Would love some opinions from fellow TT guys!

It's all players choice. I like the looks for the black so I ordered a set for myself(AP2 5-PW). But like you said, you have to decide if the little extra money is worth the limited release black finish. For me, it is.

    Agree.

Functionally it's obviously the same thing and only time will tell to see how the black wears. However $200 isn't breaking the bank, so if you prefer that look, get it!

I'm pretty excited for my set to arrive

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is no functional difference. Most limited edition items tend to sell out quickly. You'll need to decide soon if you do.

The black ones look absolutely gorgeous.
I am not able to get this run of them, I got new irons last year, so a future run of the special edition black series will definitely be on my bag

I like the tour chrome in my irons. Have a black Scotty putter and did not like the way it wore over a period of time. Got the same putter in chrome also, but in a later model (Newport 2 Select Notchback). Still putts OK, but looks ratty.

Oh I know there is no functionality difference. I just wanted to get some opinions if fellow TT players like it or not! Thanks!

...Will know better when the order comes in. Obviously suited my eyes.
  9. Ordered AP3 black today. They look great and if they get a little scuffed up, oh well. Adds character.

So the saying goes, once you go black....

I think the Black AP2 Irons are sweet looking. I just ordered a set for my son to replace his stock chrome 718 AP2 Irons. They should arrive in the next week. I can't wait! Now, I need to figure out what to do with his 5-PW set that is only 6 months old. I am sure I can pass them on to someone from his high school team or something like that.
