  1. Which AP iron set is the most forgiving

  2. Most forgiving is the AP1's

I play 716 AP1's and they are great clubs. I haven't hit the newer 718's, but from the reviews I've read on them, people who have them love them.

    What are you playing now?

AP1. If you go for a fitting, also try the AP3 for comparison. I've previously owned AP1s, but in my case, I liked the feel of the AP3 and didn't lose accuracy. The AP2 was definitely less forgiving for me.

I got fitted and play the 716 AP1s. They are great! So forgiving. If I can hit them, anyone can.

  5. I played with the AP2 710 and just bought the CB718 I tried hitting the AP1 they most def more forgiving
But I hit the CB718 better and can control my ball spin and draw and fade with it a lot more

Id say which ever one your Titleist fitter puts you in..... Forgiveness and Feel are totally personal.

AP1's for sure. During my fitting we tried the other models and there was no comparison. Farther, higher and straighter. For us higher handicappers, that what's you want.

    AP1, for sure.

Bought them with the AMT Red shafts and they're are great!
  9. Ap1 is most forgiving, but try the ap3, they are probably less forgiving but I liked the feel and look better at address. I like having just a little more than I need to motivate me to become a better player

Agreed. I had a combo set, AP1s for 5i and 6i and the rest in AP3s, but there was a noticeable difference in the feeling between the 6i and the 7i, so I just replaced the 5i and 6i for AP3s.

Totally get that the difference is between my ears, however it's translated into more accurate shots with the 5i and 6i. And while I might have given up a couple yards in distance, the ball will be closer to target, so more putting and less chipping. I'm OK with that.

I would say that according to the Titleist site and others, the AP1s are the most forgiving in the line up. But what are you looking for in a set of clubs? Only the most forgiving? Feel? Thinner top line? A combo of any of those?

I believe all the Titleist irons are great and I even play a combo set of their MBs and believe they are more forgiving then other MBs out there, but it's all personal and what gives you confidence when you step up to the shot. I play a set of MB-AP2-AP3.

Get out to a demo/fitting event and test them all and once you find the right shaft/head combo, you will be amazed.

    Hit'em well!
  12. I just got in some 718 AP1s and they are pretty forgiving and have helped me improve accuracy.... but I've only hit them on a sim, as its still winter up here in the great white north. I cant wait to get them out on the course.

Rented a brand new set of 716 AP1s at a country club in Florida last year and had a really rough day, but that was on me and some soggy course conditions, not the clubs. They feel great at approach and fly high. I would recommend a fitting no doubt, as I felt they were a little long for me.

I've also played AP2s and was able to hit them really well, getting more distance, but def less forgiving. Good luck!

I’ve went from the 714 ap1’s to the 718’s and there absolutely fantastic,a great upgrade and I’ve never been great with the longer irons so I went for 5/gap wedge and I was hitting the 5 that good I bought the 4iron a few wks later and it’s just so easy to hit,now my 21* 915 hybrid is redundant......
  14. I had the 716 AP1. Trading in for the 718 AP3. For me, the AP3 had a much nicer look behind the ball. They are lofted weaker than the AP1, but I really didn't lose enough distance to matter.
