I dont know why I feel as though I need to announce this but I am making the switch to Titleist.

I have been golfing for a little over a year now and Ive gotten myself down to a 18 HC.  I know thats not great or anything but Im sure I will eventually get to single digits.  My first set of Irons were from another brand, everything stock.  I did not get fitted for these clubs, I just walked into a shop and bought them.  Mainly because all my friends use that brand and told me that they are the best.  Dont get me wrong, they have done me good but at this point in my game, I think its time to upgrade.  I dont like the shafts on my Irons or the look at address.  I tried out the AP2's at my local range fitted with Project X 5.5 shafts and I fell in love.

I live in N. California so Im gonna make an appt with haggen Oaks golf center in Sacramento to get fitted.

    Anyways, thanks.

Welcome to the Titleist family!  The AP2's are a great iron and I'm sure you will be happy with them.  Haggin Oaks is one of our Advanced FittingWorks centers and the Titleist fitter there is Marcus Kiel.  Let us know how your fitting goes!

  3. I made the "switch" back in July myself. Finally retired the Hogans. I went with the AP1s and have found them to be an absolutely great club. The trajectory is higher and I hit them very consistently. They are a great looking iron as well. Very clean lines and a traditional look but chocked full of modern game improvement technology.I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine so far.

Great decision!!  I too just left the brand of clubs that I had been playing for years.  I just got a set of the Titleist MB 710's and they are the best feeling and best looking irons I've ever owned.  The confidence at address is indescribable and the feeling of both good and bad shots is simply a feeling every golfer should feel regardless of handicap.  I also picked up the F2 3 wood and 3 vokey wedges.  Custom fitted clubs are the only way to go, but that's just my opinion.  Have fun during your fitting and remember to ask lots of questions and be sure to try out different swing weights and get the one that "feels" best to you.  Grips are important too because you might be fitted for a standard grip but you may want an extra wrap or two underneath to make it just a little bit more to your liking,  remember...it's your fitting so if you know what you want then you should get what you want and in my expierence Titleist delivers exactly that.  Don't forget to shine some light on your expierence with your fitting and the success you have with your new irons in here so that others can come on over to a better golfing expierence which Titleist provides.  Fairways and greens!!

I am looking at getting fitted for the AP2's and was wondering if there is an extra charge for the fitting, or if it is just the cost of the clubs??

Depends on where you go to be fit.  Some fitters will include the cost of fitting in the clubs if you purchase the clubs from them and others will charge a separate fitting fee.  Give us a call if you are looking for a fitter.

I purchased a set of 710 AP 1s this summer. I love them but I was dissapointed in the lack of service I recieved in regard to custom fitting. The guys at Golfsmith seemed more interested in getting me to buy anything rather than a set of clubs that would help me improve. I'm hitting these irons good but I'm curious if it could be better. I live in Portland, Oregon. Is there a custom fitting location you could recommend?

    Thanks,

    Mark
