  1. I recently upgraded to all Titleist clubs, I have driver, 16.5deg 3 wood, 21 deg hybrid , ap3 5 through 48 deg wedge and vokey sm7 54 & 58 deg wedges. Question is I have 13 clubs and not sure of what to get for #14 a 4 iron or another hybrid. I'm a higher handicap player.

Thanks in advance for any help/recommendations

That’s a nice setup. If I were you, I would fit a hybrid between your 3 wood and current hybrid. Using the surfit Hossler, make the loft of your current hybrid 22* or 23*, then add a 19* and turn it into 18*. That should space it out nicely. 818 hybrid is way easier to hit then a 4 iron (especially if you are a high handicapper). It also has the option for adjustability, so you can play around with the lofts to find the proper gapping and distances. Good luck!

If you don't have a significant gap, don't worry about it. I have been playing 13 for years. I have driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 23 degree hybrid, 6-PW, 50, 54, 58 degree wedges and a putter, I don't feel like i have any significant gaps and having one less lightens the bag for walking. It also simplifies my decision by one when pulling a club for the shot.
  4. Tim, I’m also a high handicap, and I have basically the same setup as you. I have a 19 h2 hybrid and 4-pw ap3 irons. Are you more comfortable hitting your 5 iron or your current hybrid? That may be an easy way to make your decision. I feel like the ap3 4 iron has a good bit of forgiveness, I am as confident with the 4 iron as I am with the 5. I have very low confidence when I pull out a hybrid which is why I went with the 4i.
  5. 19* hybrid, and go to a Titleist Thursday event and get fitted for it as they can help with your gapping and set up with what you currently have.
  6. If your gaps are covered don't worry about it. I have the 718 AP1s, and wound up buying 4i-W53. I also carry, driver, 3W, and an 818H1 21* hybrid. I don't carry the 4 iron; I have the 5-W53 in the bag, and Vokey 56 and 60 * wedges. I have a slight gap between the hybrid and 5 iron, but I can generally choke down on the hybrid and be ok. I have toyed with the idea of putting the 4 iron in the bag and going to a 58* Vokey instead of the 56 and 60.

Definitely depends on your gapping but if there is a gap I would definitely edge towards an extra hybrid. I had a similar problem earlier this year and got both a 4 iron and hybrid ... the 4 iron barely ever sees the course now and the 22* hybrid is probably my most reliable club in the bag!!!

I have the same setup except for the Vokey wedges. I went 52, 56 and 60. If you find you have a gap in your wedge layout, you might want to add the 3rd Vokey.
