  1. Hi

I'm thinking of getting a mixed (blended) set of the new 710 mb/cb irons to replace my old 735cm's. Has anyone else tried this and if so how will they compare with my old 735's ?

i have a set from another brand right now but was thinking of getting a combo set as well i got fitted and found that my thoughts of a pw-7 in mb's and 6,5,4 in cb's where not going to work i hit the mb 7 iron better and farther than the 6 iron of the cb's the cb's hit the ball alot higher than the mb's well to make a point i ended up getting a full set of 710 MB's definatly hit the long irons in both and find out for yourself what works better for you. good luck.

Fully agreed ! Comb-set is not always suitable to all players; espeically the iron swing path is more V than U shape -

which MB will be an option instead of MB+CB.

But, shaft affects a lot too. Mine old one is 680 MB with S300 & new one is 710 with KBS tour S - both mid to long iron

will not drive the ball too high. However, if we have problem of ball by mid to long iron fly too low & can't stop after landed

for 5 to 10 yards further - then you should consider either

    1. MB + CB under the same shaft

    2. MB S shaft for short to mid iron & R for mid to long iron

    3. still can't make it - try PRO V1  ^_^

I thought about mixing my 2 sets of Titleists too, but it wouldn't work for me. I'm playing with early edition AP2 irons, but they replaced a set of 690.CB irons that are very similar to the new CB's. I hit the AP2's just a bit farther to create a distance gap I don't want to fight. Besides, it's not like I actually hit the 4-5 iron from the new set any worse than the old set.
