  1. Which mb set would you play and why?

The 690's have always been my unicorn. I got fitted last year and hit 716 MB, CB, and AP2. Fell in love with the CB's and put them in the bag, but only after puring every MB swing I took during the fitting. Hands down the 716 MB is the most beautiful thing Titleist has ever produced, just couldn't pull the trigger on them because honestly I was afraid of a pure blade on days when I wasn't hitting it well and my name isn't Adam Scott... So those days happen more than I would care to admit.
  3. Nice, I was thinking about going 4-6cb 7-9 mb

I play 716 CB but I would play 716 MB. I just find them so good looking for my eye. just perfect. My 716 CB look pretty much the same

I currently play a set of 690 MBs and my 710 MBs should be in shortly. The 690s are great and loved where my game has gone. I will let you know how the 710s play.
  6. I've had a set of 690mb's and they felt clicky to me I currently game the 712mb's hopefully I'll be able to get a set of 716's so I can enjoy the classic look and better feel

I was playing 714MBs last year and just got my 716 CBs that I got fit for at the end of last December. I loved my MBs and was going to go MB for 716s but I ended up going CB. At that point, its more of a preference thing. I'll say, there's no better feeling than hitting it flush with a MB.
  8. I have plays combo sett for several years now first 714 and then 716 both sets have been p-8 mb and 7-4 cb and that have been working perfectly for me! You get the lovely blade feel in shorter irons and just. Little bit help on the longer irons. Really love the mb irons but cb are great to. Hard to say what's better!
  9. I pulled the trigger on a set of 716 CBs, 3-PW in December. I've always played the "help/forgiving" type clubs- oversize head, significant offset, etc. So I was a little skeptical to go with the CBs due to the smaller traditional head and minimal offset. I did a lot of research on irons and iron play specifically. I literally scoured over tons of reviews and blogs. The one common thought I agree with regarding the "help/forgiving amateur friendly" clubs vs. blade type irons, was that to truly get better one should learn to hit the traditional irons. One of the reasons was the honest feedback they give you. They do not buffer mishits. But I found the mishits, if not too terrible, went just as far and straighter than the help clubs did. And nothing beats the feel of flushing it with the CBs.
  10. Lots of great comments! Was assisting a customer the other day and he was in possession of a set of Titleist MB.690's. He seemed to be of the mind that they might be too difficult for him to hit (not so)! I on the other hand absolutely loved their look and shape even though it was an older version of MB. Have played the 716's (a most beautiful iron) over the last couple of years and find them a little harsh in terms of feel relative to miz's which I have also gamed. While I am a reasonably accomplished player, I am plagued with a lower ball flight than I would wish with my mid irons. Hit it plenty long, with an above average SS (79-80mph - 7 iron) but my spin numbers are not consistently high enough with the mid irons to have the ball stop on the greens, here in the UK! Anyway had a few strikes with the client's MB.690's and Eureka! Right where I would like it. As an experiment, I have now acquired an inexpensive pre-owned set via ebay and replaced their DGS300 shafts with Reg Nippon 950GH HT shafts. Looking forward to striking them in anger. The club head looks better to me at address, slightly longer than the 716's head to toe and the muscle bar is lower on the back of the club which along with the lightweight, mid kick-point shaft should help with the higher trajectory I am seeking. Will also consider a slight steepening of my swing plane, if necessary, as I have also had the heads adjusted 1 degree flat! If all the above works and I get the feel and trajectory I am looking for, then happy days and potentially a happy new year. Anyway, a great golfing 2018 to all! P.S. Only the ball left to consider. Any suggestions? ;-)
