  1. Happy New Year Team Titleist I have a question for concerning the different types of clubs. I have been playing CB for some time now and I am thinking about trying the forged MB clubs. I want to be more precise in my shots. What are you thoughts? I would like to get a set of 716 but wondered if the 710s would work as a good trial due to the cost of the earlier club being a little easier in the wallet. Thank you in advanced team.

  2. Lee, I've been playing the 716cb's for a year now and love them. I could probably play blades but the CB's offer me more forgiveness and I can still play whatever ball flight I choose with them. Even on mishits they still go where I hit them. Maybe you can demo the mb's somewhere and see if they fit your game. Not as many tour players playing mb's anymore, looking for more forgiveness. Good Luck!!

Getting fitted would be the best thing, mb look better imo but of course not forgiving. To me mb will make you strive to hit that sweet spot and get better also.
  4. Thanks for your inputs. I do plan to get fit and give the MBs a trial run. I do like the forgiveness of the CBs though. I will give them a try and we will see how it all works out.
    I appreciate it

Lee, what you may want to consider is a split set. I currently play the 714CB (4-6) and 714MB (7-Pw). Best of both worlds!!!

It sounds like a split set would be awesome setup for your needs.

CB 4-5-6-7 and MB in 8-9-PW.

I personally play the 716 CB's and I don't think I lose any control over the MB. I am cloning from 714 AP2 and miz MP-59. I switched since I found the AP2 are to flight lower to the height I wanted.

Also, think about this, Speith, Dufner, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, Kevin Na, Russel Henley and more play AP2 irons.

I never have played a mixed set but am curious about the T-MB long iron and MB short iron mixed setup. Love the idea of being able to move the ball a little more than the AP1's I play now allow.
  8. I am like Corey, I play a mixed set of 714's. I am a 2 hcp and love the both clubs. I have played a blade for the past 20+ years and have a hard time getting away from them. I don't need my long irons very often so I wanted something that would be a little more forgiving. They still have a nice blade top line/look, and the MB's are some of the best blades i have ever played. I have tried the AP2's but just can't wrap my mind around them as they are just a tad bigger than the MB/CB.
  9. Is there any update on MB vs CB? I am considering the same choice. I currently play forged 704 CB's with extremely high ball flight & pretty solid, but I feel like the height is hurting my accuracy. I heard the MB have a lower ball flight or would the height be strictly determined by the shaft weight? PS Have always loved the look of MB but it's a lot of money to spend if they don't work out.
  10. Update: I ended up going with the MBs. The feel of the ball hitting the center of the club is amazing. Although it is stated there is not much forgiveness with the MBs compared to the CBS, I have found the MBs to play just fine on a miss hit. I have the project PXI stiff shafts on them and I get a mid ball flight which works great for me. Also, when addressing the ball with the MBs the thin line is the look I was wanting.

Brad, I would suggest going and hitting them to see if the work for you in performance and appeal.
