Last year I was playing at about a 6 handicap. I played a lot and felt in control of 90% of my game at any given time. This year I've been struggling with my driver, bad... Yesterday I played at a shorter course, 6500 yards from the tips. I decided to keep the driver in my truck and tee off with my 915H. I can hit it straight or turn it right to left and get about 240 yards out of it. GREAT CHOICE! Shot a 75 with 6 birdies, so potential for a much lower score if I didn't lip out so many putts.

Is this all it will take to turn the year around and maintain the single digit handicap? If so, thank you Titleist and your hybrids!

Wow, that's great to have 6 birds in a round, Chris M.!

Anyway, it sounds like you have a lot of power. But if it's only the driver that's misbehaving, that almost sounds easy to fix. I'm not sure if you're working with anyone, but if you are, I'd spend some time there. Or, maybe a new fitting is called for- a weak shaft maybe? Or...could it be a critical/tight landing area for the driver at a course you play? Because it looks like you could be a much better player with the driver working well.

    Good luck.

  3. Some days, taking the stress of your driver swing and go to the iron swings can make big difference. Great job, Chris!

    Enjoy!

    Huddersfield,

My best golf so far this year, was this week! I've struggled all year for some reason, just not felt comfortable over the ball and my handicap has slowly risen to 12.6. I played 9 holes on Thursday morning on a course I haven't played before and finished +3 for the back nine, and only used the driver once. I was nailing my 915f like never before. Friday was our club captains away day, at another new course. I shot a net level par and finished 5th out of 52, which I was pretty happy with
