A few weeks ago I went to Manchester Lane and got fitted for new AP1 716 irons, 816s and the new Vokey SM6. Later on that day i got my specs and obviously the next step is whether or not I should buy them. A few weeks later the boxes came :) Telling the wife about these was the hard part and it's a long road to recovery but i'll be fine.. Anyways...

I've played a few rounds and so far I am VERY happy about these new clubs.

716 AP1 6-GW.. Wow, just wow... I am really enjoying these new irons.. And IMO, they feel smoother than my old 714 AP1s. i think a lot of it has to do with the new shaft the fitter recommended. The dude is a genius. Everything about the clubs just feels right.. The irons feel lighter and I feel i have more control of the irons.. The shaft i got were the Nippon 950

816 21 and 25 degrees w/ Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana Hyb M+ Red 60/50.. Another WOW.. These clubs are so easy to hit.. Both of these replaced my 4 and 5 iron.. I feel these are easier to hit to get the yardages I need... Definitely a lot of headcovers in my bag now :)

SM6 52 and 60 degree.. Both are amazing but still some work to do since they feel a little heavier than my old SM5.. I like these b/c I feel they hit the ball better with more spin..

Overall I'm very happy with these clubs..

And now the 917s.... Dear honey... :)

Nice Chris. Best of luck on your "road to recovery", I think we all go down that road at least once in our marriages.

Better be the Raw Black finish on the SM6s....

Congratulations on the new clubs Christopher! Glad you like the new setup and are putting them to good use. I have found things work much more smoothly if I don't mention when new clubs come in to my wife, seems to help a little bit to ensure marital bliss! Enjoy the new sticks.

Christopher congrats on the new clubs and how well you enjoy them. I'll need that dog house when you're done. I'm in the middle of getting myself some 716's as well.

    Enjoy them & play well.

Congrats. Always a good feeling to get some new sticks. Nothing better than a little more inspiration to work on your game!
  8. Is Justshopok allowed to sell your clubs or are they fake.
  9. Congrats! I'm still waiting for my new clubs. Ordered on May 21st with wife approval :) for Father's Day gift! Didn't make it and wondering when they will arrive...

Sweet ! I hit a demo of the 716 and also thought it felt nicer than my 714 ap2, and 1/2 club longer . I'm curious about your wedge fitting. did you end up with different grinds with the sm6 ?

I hit the 716 upon release in 2015 and never looked back, things have never been better. The feel and forgiveness is unmatched but most of all the distance & dispersion are unbelievable, not the longest out there but if you can't control your distance or trajectory then you are losing scoring opportunities. Love your set up and enjoy!
  12. Congrats on the new sticks. I transitioned from the Apex Pro's to the 716 AP2's and will never go back. The AP's feel and perform so much better. Sounds like you may have to buy the wife a new Coach purse or something if you want to get the 917 Driver.

Oohh yep, definitely been there, gift for a gift. That 917 looks well worth a trip to the coach store...
