I play the 716 AP2 irons. I do not like the off set on the AP1 long irons. Are the T-MB Utility irons an easier to hit replacement for the 3-4-5 AP2 irons? Looking for a little more height and distance in those clubs. I play the DG AMT R300 shaft in the AP2. Any input would be useful.

Hi, . . . when you state "easier to hit", I am presuming that you mean in terms of achieving your desired ball flight, etc. rather than it's overall "forgiveness".

My experience with the T-MBs, is that they do achieve a nice high ball flight with better distance (compared to my swings with the AP2 irons). As such, you definitely should see more distance and a higher ball flight. Go try them out -- I think that you will really like them!

In my 30 years of playing golf I have never been able to hit the 3 - 4 irons high or very far. Until I was fitted with the T-MB, I have the DG AMT S300 shaft. I carry the 4 iron 210 yards with a nice high ball flight. I was very pleased with the results. Since I received the T-MBs they have become my favourite clubs in the bag. My 16 year old son also loves them and now I have to make sure they stay in my bag.

    Good luck.

Hi, I switch to the T-MBs from my AP1/2 combo set which I used 4i and 5i AP1 and the T-MB irons are very forgiven and I gained more distance. My friends are surprised how much my game improved since I switch to the T-MB irons. If you are able to afford them because they are a little bit pricy go for it, you won't regret it.

    Enjoy.
