I play the 714 ap2 with project x PXI 5.0 shafts. I use to play project x 5.0 and currently have them in my sm5. I am going to order sm6 and wondered if I should match irons with the PXI even though they launch a lil higher or stay with project x 5.0 to have a lower ball flight and a lil heavier shaft?

I went through the same dilemma... whether to keep the shafts matching or change them up.

I went for my fitting at Titleist Oceanside last October and that was one thing I was helped with. What I did was hit the shots I would normally hit with each shaft and see which one I liked better.

I have a 50*, 55* (bent), and a 60*. I went with my iron shaft on the 50*, was torn on the 55*, and the 60* felt better on shorter shots. I use all three for full shots and the 60* I'll use for a variety of shots and the variety felt better with the wedge shaft instead of my iron shaft.

EIther do that, or if you can try them both to see what works best for you.

    Good Luck!

I had my wedge shafts matched to my iron shafts but I'm an older golfer (slower swing) so it works for me but I believe what ba said as well because of age difference and going to a fitter is your best bet to fit this I hope it helps

    Grindelwald,

on my irons I have the DG s300, on the wedges the DG s200
my club fitter did not tell me for which reason...
  5. The DG S200's are the stock shaft for the SM6's if that's what you have. The S300 are usually stock for AP2's. Some people will go with the same shaft that they have in their irons, others might use a flex that is a little softer to help out with those 1/2 and 3/4 shots
