    Hello, I was wondering what the best shaft for my driver would be. I am 6'4" 265lbs and athletic. I have a swing over 105MPH and currently have a Diamana 72c5ct flex-x shaft on my Titleist driver. I have an issue with my ball flight going about 200 yrds straight then banking hard right as if it ricocheted off of something. I dont have a location to get fitted near me and was looking for some input. All suggestions appreciated. Thank You. Brian F.

    I am exactly your size and I swing about the same (110mph) and I use the Aldila Tour Green Shafts for my driver and fairway metals with lots of success.

    Hey Brian,

    Tough call without an actual fitting but I understand the frustration. It sounds as if (and your swing mechanics are good) your spin rates are pretty high. I would try a heavier shaft. I am 6'4' 240 with a driver speed averaging at 125. I have a bunch of shafts both standard and exotic but one of my favorites is the Aldila Rip a 80. Heavier and keeps my spin rates down while being a rather cheap shaft.

    When you get that spin issue figured out you're going to hitting the ball like Bubba. Had you given any thought to seeing a PGA Teaching pro to get rid of your slice? You will not regret it as you will be adding significant distance to your drives. That's not to say that your driver shaft could be too weak for your swing speed. Try going the teaching pro route and I suspect you will be hitting it out of the park. As a side note, had you given any thought to playing linebacker in the NFL this year?
