I have been playing a 910d3 driver for about 4 years now, and have always liked the solid feel it provided off the face even on mis hits. However for the last month it has not felt anywhere near the same and i have been really struggling for distance off the tee which is unusual, although i continued to think that i was just hitting it bad even though the rest of my long game has been good. Anyway in the past couple of days a few of my playing partners were saying that the strike on it sounded weird, whilst the flight was poor- so i got them to have a hit and the results were very similar. I also had a hit with their drivers and the outcome was much much better and the normal feel of striking a driver was there. It just seems as though the face on my driver has gone, has anyone heard of/experienced this issue before? I am probably due for an upgrade anyway, and have now had a few hits with the 915d3 which i really like, so will probably go ahead and get fitted soon.

I've experienced similar in the past. Most likely has a hairline crack on the face somewhere, time to retire the club.

Happens a lot. Give it time and your driver will crack (hairline) somewhere. All drivers do this on everybrand. Hit any driver long enough or hard enough and they go "dead" and hit it longer and it will enevitably crack.
