  1. All I can say is that I dont like that the different Irons opperate with different lofts on the same club. The 9 iron on AP1 are now the same loft as the 8 iron of MB...and so on. Then it easy to advertise that the AP1 are looonger. Pleas support me if you agree...

What can I say is that there are many factors that goes into getting more distance, such as the design and/or material used. Loft is just one of those.

Previously Titleist responded that with face and material changes that they maintained the same launch angle with the lower loft. If all they did was change the loft, the new lofts would launch lower closer to the previous lower number iron. I think the shaft lengths stayed the same. So while late to the loft de-escalation wars, the AP1s should work better than just a pig with lipstick.

The strong loft topic always makes it out there in the irons conversations. It seems to push many golfers buttons... The way I see it is just an increase in technologies and I've taken advantage of what Titleist has to offer. How I mean that is I have divided my irons into sets, and I've used and will add to what Titleist continue to improve. In the wedge set- I have 3 different loft, and with the new SM6 coming out, I'll probably have two different grinds. Then in the short iron set, I've selected 7i-PW in CB. Next are the mid-long irons, and I've added a T-MB... I guess I'm just saying that after some great research and development from the gurus in Titleist, I am able to compose a complete set that fits me. Lofts and lie are just numbers. I just know that I am allowed to carry 14 of them.

    Cheers!
