  1. Hey everyone! I'm currently 13 and a 5.4 handicap. I play the 915 d3 in 9.5 with an X shaft. I swing at about 100mph. I wasn't fit for the x, but it gave me the best numbers on GC2 in testing. Does anyone think I could benefit from going to a stiff? Thanks.

How do you hit it? if its straight and your getting the distance then why change?

I found that the head of the club got ahead of my hands with the stiff.

I have a slightly faster swing speed, but it may be worth having a fitting and see how you get on.

I had the same dilemma the other week, i too thought about changing down to a stiff. I was fit by a pro on a launch monitor for the 9.5 915 D3 with RIP rogues
x-stiff shaft. I've struggled with getting a high enough launch so changed the head/shaft setting to +1.5* (11 degree loft) and bias to a draw. The difference has been amazing as I'm now getting the initial launch with the low spin. 107mph average swing speed with driver.

When I was fit for it I was fit down to a 8.5 loft with a x-flex shaft just to get the spin numbers down. I would stay with the X-flex, especially if the club feels good, you're hitting it straight, and you're comfortable with it why change?
  5. Thanks a bunch.

I'm about 102mph when warmed up and was fit into the Diamana D+ 70 X-Flex shaft for my D2. I always struggled off the tee until I got fit. I have put my driver up to the test on launch monitors with other shafts and essentially whether it's stiff or X-stiff, my current combo in the driver still gives me the best spin and accuracy. Stick with what you got!!
