I am waiting to hear about their performance. Pretty is as pretty does. I saw the pictures also and they do look very nice.

I kinda like the looks of the 714 AP1's better
I like the 716 AP2. Not so sure about the AP1. I need to see them in person... I'm hoping they just don't photograph well.

Good morning,
I personally didn't care for the "Tungsten"(sp?) stamp on the lower lofted AP2 irons. However, as long as they didn't mess up the performance that's really what I care about. The 714 AP2's perform perfectly well for me (I haven't bought them yet but I've used them at demo days). As long as the 716's do at least as well I could easily see myself putting a new set of AP2's in the bag.

You should buy them and sell me your 714's lol

Can't wait to hear and see more of the new 716 line up. Please keep us posted

Saw the pics and like it so far... Looking forward to checking these out in the fall (my guess as to when they'll be released)..
Currently have the 714 AP1s and love them.. This will be interesting...

I play all Titleist clubs, AP2 714s 915s, and Vokey wedges. I have waiting for a long time and was very excited to see the new irons but I did not care much for the new look of the AP2 716s. Disappointing. They also seem to have a wider sole. I love my 714's, the way they look, feel, and play. Instead of pre-ordering now I am going to wait and hit these first to see if there is a performance increase or how the looks bother me. I would like to know why Titleist felt the need to change the look so much and stamp the ugly "Tungsten" on them. My clubs and irons are wearing after two years of heavy play and practice. If there is no major difference I may pick up a new set of 714s before they are gone and and wait to see what the 718s have to bring or maybe it is just time to jump ship. We always tell Titleist, ''Just don't screw them up!" I hope that's not what they have done with the 716s
Not Happy,

I'm not a fan of either the AP2 or the AP1's appearance. I can only hope Titleist do something before their release date. I like the new 716 MB's, I thought they looked great as a traditional iron should, but the new 716 CB's are not as pretty. The lower lofted clubs seem to have an addition notice of 'TUNGSTEN' stamped on those clubs. Don't like that idea a bit. I'm scared... : (

Got an email today from TT saying that we will be notified as updates are available. These are prototypes at the Quicken loans. I would assume they will be awaiting to hear back from the tour players. Just a hunch. :-)

The new 716 iron line looks solid and I will be following comments from the forum on their performance, but, what really catches my interest are the new 916H line! I have two 910H (21* and 24*) that are getting a little tired and may be due for replacement, if I can allow that to happen. I have hit just about every similar hybo out there and nothing has come close to knocking the 910H's out of the bag, they are just that good for my swing!
However, the 916H line do have my eye wandering.....

My initial reaction was that they seemed too busy, and unTitleist like. But now that I have looked at them on a larger screen than a smart phone they are actually kind of growing on me. As long as they keep the "Tungsten" and "Forged" text as a laser etching rather than a deep stamp or engraving, I can see myself using those in the future. (It's easier to sand off...) Also, I would prefer that the toe section on the short irons of the AP2's had the same brushed satin finish even if they do not have the tungsten weighting, just to keep the lines consistent through the set.
I just picked up the 714 CBs and prefer the full satin finish over chrome, so it will be a while before I even consider switching. That, and I love the smooth curvature of the concave muscle pad. The way the light reflects off creates a beautiful gradient.

I am eager to test the 716 CB!

I like my AP2's and can't see myself replacing them at this time. the photos of the 716's are merely pictures, so it is hard to truly tell how they look, but I candidly like the look of the 714 AP2's better.

I, too, much prefer the look of the 714 AP2 over the 716 version. I'm VERY satisfied with my 714's and this makes my decision NOT to make a change all that much easier ;)

I own the AP2 714, and I can't imagine what Titleist possibly could have done to improve it. From the pics, the 716s actually look a little chunkier than the 714. I'm not a fan of the word 'TUNGSTEN' engraved on the club, I think it's a little tacky. Who knows, maybe they'll be better. One thing I must say is I wish they made forged AP1s in America. I know Titleist makes AP1 forged in Korea I believe, but not in the US. I was hoping the 716 line of AP1s would be forged. Owned 712 AP1s for two seasons, and they are great clubs that really improved my game. I love the black sole on the 716 MB. Great looks. All around, I'm pretty impressed, but I'm going to stick with my 714 AP2s for some time.

Does anyone know if there will be a 2 iron in the 716 ap2 line up?
My guess is no. I had to go to the 712u driving iron to satisfy my 2 iron wants.
Seems like the 2 iron has gone the way of the 1 iron....and it probably wont be long before the 3 iron follows them.

I do not care what my iron looks like as long as it has great performance! I am going to need to visit Oceanside TPI this fall to figure out if I should stay in AP2's or another model!

I have been planning to upgrade my TM to AP1's this year. Fear I will have new club fever if I don't at least have the chance to see some level of review on the 716's before I go through the fitting process. My club pro is heading to Oceanside in late August for a fitting. Hopefully I will get more information on the 716's performance. From the early pictures, the AP1's seem to have a larger sole than I may prefer. But if this improves performance, I'll pull the trigger.

I have been waiting for over 2 years for the 716 AP2's. I have the 712 and have been very patient in not upgrading and I am a little disappointed in the appearance in the pictures. Will need to see them in person obviously but I really love the feel of the 714's. I might actually save some money if I find some discounted 714's instead of new 716's.
I think I would check out their performance before making a decision. I have 714 AP2s and they are great clubs, but there are more to the clubs than the heads. Right shafts, grips and "it's all about the fit".
