This is kind of an odd question but here is the situation/question. I really like the feel of the AP 1's but I like the look of the AP 2's (it's the red, the silver just looks better to me). So my question is, does anyone know if those emblems can be swapped without damaging the clubs? I have spoken to Titleist customer service and they said they wouldn't do it, any ideas or insight? I suppose worse case, I could just buy the AP 2's, the lack of as much forgiveness on mis-hits just makes me nervous on such a large investment but I do like that they are forged (anyone can hit clubs well in a demo). This brings me to my next question, is the forgiveness on mishits between the two that significant?

    Thanks,

Go see a fitter and find out which club is best for you.  I would worry more about my scoring ability than the looks of a golf club.  Or wait until the new irons come out in November and see what they look like.  A fitter can put you in the right set up.

Chuck is right. Although the AP1 and AP2 are very similar, the AP1 is more forgiving. Yet it looks more forgiving with its top line.  Getting fit is the only true way to know. The AP2  looks much better in my opinion although the AP1 suited my game better

Hey Bro, I have the AP-1's. In golf it's about the score card, that's what's important. By-the-way, when you're swinging at 100 plus mph you don't have time to marvel at your club(s) - - the look of your club does not matter. AP-1's look beautiful at address anyway. (Are you a pro?)

You can put a compression tape on an iron and play a round out out on a course.  You'll then have an idea of how well you strike the ball.  Grooving a swing on the range can lead to unhealthy expectations..  3 levels of options will come from that.  You are consistent enough to take a less forgiving club, you aren't bad but if you put more time in your game you will appreciate them, or seriously - you need all the forgiveness you can get.   A good fitter will  give you his/her best opinion on what will work best for you.

I have only tried the AP1's. However before making a decision I tried many irons. You should always go with the club that you are better at hitting with. Looks must come second

Also there is a large disparity between the clubs. The AP1 is for more amateur golfers being more forgiving. However the AP2 is much more professional focussing on distance not forgiveness.

Hello Kevin. I'm betting I'm one of the few people who would truly understand your dilemma. I too have concerns over aesthetics as you do. Your question I feel, is not odd at all. I'm a firm believer in liking what you're playing, and liking what you look at is very important. It will make you play better if you truly love your equipment.

To answer your question, swapping out the emblems on the back of the clubs is not possible without changing or damaging the emblem itself or club head. My advice my sound odd, but I would be tempted to do one of two things. 1. Purchase the club you truly like the look of. If you don't you might go through buyers remorse, which won't help you like the product any more. Buying the club you truly like will give you sense of pride. You will want to spend more time practicing with the clubs you like, this can only help your golf game. 2. Maybe look for a new, but older set of AP1's. The graphics change from year to year. You could find something you like on eBay and at a substantial cut in cost as well. Best of luck.
