I am currently a 14 handicap and am 16 years old and only hoping to get better. I would like more performance from my irons but thinking the CB's might be too big a jump from my current TM Rac's.

It honestly depends on how good of a ball striker you are.
Have you gone to a fitting center or hit various irons against a launch monitor? That will give you the data you need to make a decision.

Agree with this advise. A fitter can measure you for your needs.
I believe that I am a very strong ball striker and my irons are a better part of my game. I live in a pretty small place with no fitting centres near me and no store carries the cb for me to try.

Mistakes can be costly....financially and in your game......
Thanks for the site i was very hopeful that it would work but it doesn't seem to work in Canada.

Thanks Mike,
there weren't any fitting centers close t me. I'm wondering if they ever do demo days and if so how can i find out when.
Thanks
Cam: Check under upcoming events. It gives a list of upcoming demo days, dates and where they will be. Titleist takes good care of us.

I don't think I would jump in too deep of water just yet, as stated if you want to go to a forged iron I think the AP2's would fit the bill. They will shine on the days you may not be striking it great, I'm not being a party pooper here but if any way possible try a go hit the CB's and AP2's, if you play with someone who has a set just see if they might let you take a swing or two. Hey if AP2's are good enough to win the Masters with it's good enough for me! Just saying.

I've never hit TM Rac's, but I've owned 2 sets of CBs. I started with 695 CBs in 2006 and they were fantastic. I replaced them last year with the 714 CBs. Fantastic clubs.
RexSt. Albert,
They may be bit hard to hit, you would have to devote some practice time. I would also recommend a combo set even.
AP2 3/4/5
CB 6/7/8/9/PW

In that case, you might want to move up to the AP2s instead.
I do believe that practicing with and playing a forged CB/MB will -improve- your ball-striking and feel, though. It's the instant feedback.

I have hit CB clubs before, and as a 13 handicap, I found it rough at times. When I hit it on the sweet spot, the ball flew long and straight, but a slight miss hit, and it was all over the place. I moved to AP1 irons last year, and I love them. You might give the AP2 irons a try, they are forged, but offer a little more forgiveness than CB irons do. And work abililty is great with the AP line of irons, as I can now hit a slight draw to go with my slight fade shot. Good luck, hope you find something you really like.
Thanks i hope so too!!

Jordan Speith and Jason Dufner use AP2's....just sayin....
I would love the ap2's there is just a good deal on the cb's.

Hi Cam,
What exactly do you mean by "more performance"? It might better help us to understand what you might need.
I've seen the TM CB Rac's (not the OS or Lt models) in person at a used equipment shop. I currently play 712 CB's and in my opinion, based on size and shape of the heads, the CB's will not be that big of a jump. My concern is that you will actually not see the greatest of changes if you do go the CB route, and your money could have been better invested in wedges or and a solid putter. Also, from my experience, TM has a tendency to have lighter and sometimes proprietary stock shafts. So if you do get Titleist CB's, makes sure the shafts are comparable to what you like or need through a fitter.
