Was looking to get a new driver and am seriously considering 915 d2 but was wondering if anybody had hit another brands new driver. Just curious if there is anything out there comparable. Thanks for any input.

Hello Brandon
Every year we golfers get buried with an avalanche of new club offerings from all the manufacturers. Try to whittle the choices down to size. Go to your local golf shop now and feel them out. Put the club in your hands and give it a waggle or two. Sometimes the clubhead will feel too light, others too heavy. Some clubs simply won't look right to YOU at the address position. This alone will eliminate a number of pretenders.
For the ones you still consider, go to the manufacturers web site and get the specs. Make sure the comparison is even. Titleist uses a 45" inch shaft but many other man's use longer shafts (I always found that weird. If longer shafts are good for you, why don't the pro's use them?). Anyway, the question with a 46" shaft is can you control the beast? What good's an extra 10 yards if it's just 10 yards farther into the lake?
Don't know what part of the country you live in but demo days will soon be upon us! Get out there and hit some golf balls with your final choices. There is no substitute for direct feedback from YOUR hands into YOUR brain. Watch the ball flight. A good fitter will work with you. They'll have multiple shaft offerings on hand for you to try and they'll be happy to adjust the clubhead as well.
After all that, you'll have no questions that your new 915 D2 is the right driver for you.

Trevor DBragg Creek,
Hello Brandon,
Cheers from the TT community!
I think what you'll find here is a whole lot of brand loyalty. Speaking personally, I've hit most other drivers and always come back to my Titleist because there's a very traditional (and very specific) look, sound and feel that you can only get from a Titleist. One that most on this board hold very dearly. I'm so bad that I can't even get past the look of most other drivers to bother to take them seriously. I can't do white, racing stripes, weird shapes, computer graphics, orange - nothing. Just classic black pear shaped drivers that make that tuning fork ring in your loins when you pure it. So in my humble opinion, no - there's nothing that compares to a Titleist so you'll have to head down to a fitting centre, get on a launch monitor and see if you can find something you like.

Brandon,
While I am an avid Titleist enthusiast, as a club fitter I cannot honestly tell you its the perfect fit for everybody. I am a fitter at Golf Exchange where we are a Top 100 Fitter rated by Golf Digest and with my experience there is just so many options these days that are good. One thing to take into consideration is the shafts offered stock if you're not willing to pay the uncharges for aftermarket shafts. Titleist has done a great job of expanding their offerings this year from the three Diamana options, Aldila Tour Green, and the Rogues. Best thing is to get to your nearest fitter who has a good reputation and will not be biased one brand against the others.
