Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the question.
It really is all player dependent. Both clubs offer great feel and control, but the AP2 may help you achieve more consistency and better launch conditions. I would suggest seeing a local fitter so you can hit both clubs side-by-side and see which one gives you the best combination of feel, control and forgiveness.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hey Kevin,
I play the 714 MBs and love them. I haven't hit the AP2s but I like the look of the MBs at address. The MBs are very consistent, distance wise, which I love. They will definitely be in my bag until the grooves wear out.
As long as you make consistent contact in the center (or relative center) of the club face, certainly give the MBs a try. You can't go wrong either way though.

I play the AP2's, and love them. Switched from png, and couldn't be happier. I don't see myself going anywhere anytime soon. I've got a full set of Titleist clubs in the bag now, and I'm shooting some of the best scores of my life. The AP2's are a very forgiving club, yet still very easy to work right or left.

Currently 712 AP2s, but loved the 714s I tried at the TT Invitational last year here in San Diego... It's not the clubs, it's the swinger.. Looking forward to the 716 series.

Great comments from everyone, I especially like Bubba's comments.
I have played the last two updates of the AP2 (712 and 714, on a sidenote, I played png Iron for 30+ years before that) and I have enjoyed their feel and appearance without question. I recently had a fitting in October at the Oceanside TPI facility again and that was a focus of the first hour of my fitting, should I keep my AP2's or consider going to the MB or CB? Since the shaft I play has excellent trackman numbers and I like the feel (DG TI X100 SSx1) my fitter and I spend time on the other iron head models comparing and contrasting the design. It was apparent that the ideal theme should be, at least for my game, is to give me the most forgiving iron that I can hit consistently. After many MB, CB and AP2 strikes it was obvious that when I miss the ball my misses with the AP2 are most desireable. Thus, I decided to stay with my current choice. Additionally for you consideration, it was pointed out to me that some players on tour (like Ben Curtis and Ben Crane to name a couple) have approached this process with the same theme...so you may wish to consider approaching your situation with a similar manner. While MB's are very sexy to look at, I would rather have a great looking scorecard at the end of the day with a low score!
Just my two cents...Good Luck!

I also play the 714 AP2s. It's a nice blend of everything I'm looking for in an iron. Great feel, nice looks at address and you can work the ball left or right. Cheers!

I bought my 714 AP2s (3-PW) last December and love them! I had them custom fit with KBS Tour C-Tapers. Not only do they look great in the bag (especially next to the 913 driver, 3 wood & hybrid, Vokey wedges and Scotty putter), but they are solid irons and very accurate!

I play the 712 AP2 but when I was fitted for them, I really loved the look of the CB's. But the extra forgiveness and great looks of the AP2 made them the better choice for me.

I play the 712 AP1s. I went with them for the same reason Chris 92009 discussed in his post, they helped to minimize my misses the best.

I played Titleist for years. I played the 962's and then the 990's since they came out, and the 975D and 907 driver. I am currently not playing Titleist. I'm playing the I20's with TM Rocketballz 2 driver, 3 wood and hybrids with Clvlnd CG12 wedges. Going to go through some swing changes this winter with my coach. I'm thinking of going Titleist from top to bottom when I get a big check from work.
As my buddies tell me. My misses are caused by the indian not the arrow.....well, it's true......I play the AP2s and really like them a lot......my second set.....

I've played forged blades for 30 years and last year had the opportunity to get fitted at the Manchester Lane facility. One of the best experiences ever and have played some of my best golf this past year. I tried the AP2, CB and MB, finally deciding on the CB. Looks like a blade, feels like a blade, while still giving a little forgiveness with the small cavity back. One suggestion would be to make sure you get fitted with the correct shafts and specs. Good luck.

I guess I will go on record with mine.
I actually do not play Titleist irons. At the time I bought my last set (8 years ago), I really like the miz MP-32's.
I know it is getting about time to switch my irons out for something newer. I will have to do some serious testing to find out what I like best.
Every club other than my iron set is Titleist. When I bought the miz's, I tested all of the Titleist out there and just did not like the feel. The old ZB model just didn't fit my style.
When I do buy another set, I will take a hard look at the MB. I will say that irons such as the MB's are not for everyone. Heck, a lot of the tour players do not even play them. I just have always been a hard ball striker and they give me the best results and I can easily control them.
I would try them all and go from there.

I play the AP2's with DG TI X100's and have played the same setup through the 710's, 712's and 714's. For me this club gives a compact look at address which I like but also gives me forgiveness on miss-hits. I have found that the AP2's just fit my game and my eye. I have hit the CB and MB clubs and they feel great, but it you have any miss-hits or off center hits, you will certainly know it much more than with the AP2's. At the end of the day, I favor the additional forgiveness with the AP2's.
As Bubba noted in his comments, get together with a fitter that has all of the options available and spend time hitting all of the different permutations. Once you spend some time with the clubs and an experienced fitter, you can determine what it best for your game and your eye. Good luck as they are all great options!

I only have 4 irons (6 - 9) and they are AP1 710s. I currently have two AP2 714s (7 & 9 iron) on the way. I got a very good deal on them and want to make sure I like the before getting the rest. I have never played with forged irons but am looking forward to it.

Do yourself a huge favor and get to a certified Titleist fitter. Trust them to help you put the right equipment for your game in the bag. While it is nice to know what others are playing , it really has no bearing on what is right for you. I love the setup in my bag, but I don't know anyone else that would play it. I use a 712u 4 iron with a TT DR x100, CBs 5 and 6 irons weighted to D4 and MBs 7, 8, 9 and Windows weighted to D5. For wedges I use TVD M grinds bent to 53 and 59 degrees. While this works for me, it most defiantly won't work for many others.
Trust your fitter, he or she will save you shots every round!
You know the old saying about a business being successful: location, location, location. Same same principle with golf clubs: certified fitting, certified fitting, certified fitting.......19Hole is dead on......
