Like Old Deets in Lonesome dove isn't one to give up on a garment, I'm not one to quickly give up a working putter. Since buying my original Futura my putting has went from good to really good. It really fits my stroke and I love the feel of the weight. However I am inclined to try the dual balance futura x. It seems to me as well as having the weight behind the blade, that having the weight at the top of the grip as well as heel toe weighting would make for an even more consistent  stroke. Would love to try it..anyone else made this type of upgrade that will share results?

  2. Cody, by the original futura I assume you mean the Futura X not the really original Futura with the horseshoe weight in the back.  Regardless, the Dual Balance Futura X will not be an upgrade unless you have problems flipping your hands or wrists at impact and you need to smooth things out.  I just spent a day at the Scotty Cameron Fitting Gallery working on these types of issues and the DB was not for me...however many find it worthwhile.  I would have you consider the Futura X (if you are coming from the original Futura from a decade ago) or I would encourage you to try the new Futura X5 or X5R (the X5R is rounded vs. more linear).

Have fun in this process and Good Luck!

Cody, I liked the dual  balanced idea from the '' get go''. I bought the newport 2.The extra weight  will be noticed at first but in time the putter will feel ''normal''. I also had a tendency to leave putts short due to the added weight of the putter. I hope this helps.
