I currently play a 40 degree 9 iron, 45 degree pitching wedge, and 50 degree gap wedge, with subsequent wedges falling at 56 and 60 degrees.  I would like to switch to all Vokey design wedges, which means my lofts would probably fall at 48, 52, 56, and 60.  However, this leaves an 8 degree gap in between my 9 iron and pitching wedge.  How big of a problem is this? Any suggestions for set make-up? Thanks!

I have my stock AP PW and then have a 50, 54, 58* wedges.  For me its a perfect combination and I have no gaps anywhere.  If I did have a big gap id rather have it in my higher loft wedges where half shots are easier than a big gap like you mentioned between your 9 and PW.

I agree with Nick.  8° is a pretty big gap between your 9 and PW.  I'd probably stick with the 50 PW  and gap from there.

When we spoke with Bob V., his thought was that 4°-6° between wedges was optimal unless you were a real 'touchy, feely' kind of wedge player.
