    I just bought a 913Fd fairway would with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7s shaft. I have hit the 913F fairway wood before and the sound and feel of it coming off the face was wonderful and felt just like the driver. When I got the Fd I was expecting it to be the same effect but it was not. The sound was more of png. I didn't know if this was how it was supposed to sound so I came here to ask you guys.

    Joel,

    The 913 FD will sound differently than the 913F because it's a larger head. The sound you are hearing is most likely correct.

    We spoke with the head of our metalwood department and here was her reply:

    The 913 F and F.d do produce different acoustics by design.  The acoustic quality is driven by the SureFfit Tour weight location and the head size.  The performance of the 913 F.d requires SureFit Tour weight to be positioned low and forward in the head to produce the low spin performance that differentiates it from 913 F.

    I love the non-png but deadened thud of the 913Fd 13.5 metal wood...with my blacktie shaft is possibly the best three metal I have ever hit and used in almost 20 years! Before that I was using fairway woods...so you cannot easily compare wood to metal! LOL
