I've been playing TM RocketBladez Tour irons, looking to switch to the 714 AP2 irons. To be honest I wanted the AP2's before I bought the RocketBladez bought just weren't as forgiving. Everything I read says the 714's are more forgiving. I'm a 5 handicap. Anyone hit these clubs yet? Thoughts??

    Hi Sam,

I just got a set of AP2s about a week ago.  I haven't hit the TMs so I can't compare those two.  I'm coming from 712 CBs and the AP2s are noticeably more forgiving, which is what I wanted.  I find that I lose 10 yards or so on toe misses vs. 30 or 40 for the same miss on the CBs.

Before I bought the AP2s I demo'd a bunch of irons (825 Pros, MP-54, i20, Anser, S55, Apex) on the simulator.  I got the best dispersion on the MP-54s and the AP2s with better distance on the AP2s.  Whatever you decide you should go get fitted.  I've learned that the shaft selection has a huge impact on ball flight and feel of the club.  I wound up with a fairly lightweight shaft (TT XP95).  BTW, I'm a 12 cap.  Good luck!

    Tony
