I recently was fitted for 714 AP2's and Im awaiting their arrival. With the new irons my loft setups will be different than before. Im definetely going with Vokey wedges but was curious who has been fitted for them and your experience with fitted wedges. My iron specs are 3/4" long and true temper x100 shafts. With the added length a standard lie angle worked out for me.

I was fitted for wedges and loved it. I was going to go with standard wedges but after the iron fitting he talked me in to trying the same set up as my irons( 3/4 long and 2 degrees flat). Has really helped my accuracy and consistency.

I was fitted for Volkey wedges at the same time as my 714 AP2's. The AP2 PW has a loft of 46 degrees vs 48 for my older DCIs. I was able to hit a 712 AP2 wedge bent to the new settings to determine length. As a result, my PW length was 120-125 yards. We then found that a 50 degree gap wedge was 105-110, 54 was 95-100 and 58 was 85-90 yards. So this is what I went with. It was wonderful to have the Trackman system to get all this dialed in for proper gaps. The fitter was great and also concentrated on the proper bounce setup for the wedges.

I have been very happy with the results in the last 30 days. Still working to adjust to new distances with my clubs, need more practice. The only good way to the proper setup is to do a fitting with a well trained professional.

I went 1/2" long in my irons, but I was told by a fitter (without really being fitted for wedges) that wouldn't be necessary for my wedges.  Not sure if how true that is and it's probably best to get fitted for wedges.  Then you could also work on dialing in the lofts and grinds you want.
