I am PGA professional who will be joining the Titleist family next season as staff member. Looking forward to playing the brand but want to make sure I make the right club choice.  My club head speed with 7 iron is 99 and ball flight higher than most. Shafts currently are DG TI S400 that are hard stepped once.

Looking for any advice on these two club choices. Any info provided will prove very useful and helpful.

    Hey Thomas,

Congrats on coming to Titleist.  I would reccomend that you find a titleist fitter and try the mbs, cbs, and AP2.  I also have a high ball flight and was using the 712 mbs w/ x100s (which definitely lowered my ball flight).  After my last fitting, I swithed to the 714 AP2s with KBS C taper Stiff shafts (which raised my ball flight slightly (in comparison to the x100s) but picked up some yardage.  I don't have my fitting results but I hit the 7 iron 170 (mbs), 178 (with AP2).  That should hopefully give you an idea.

    Good Luck!

    Rey,

Thanks for the response, that info helps out big time. My current 7 iron carries 190 with a stock swing with hard stepped s400. I was seriously considering a cb/mb combo set with same shaft set up or possible the modus3 120 stiff hard stepped. Distance isn't an issue that is why afraid AP2 might carry to far.

I look forward to my fitting, going to feel like a kid in a candy store.  Am very excited to be a member of the Titleist Family.

    Thanks again for the info,

    Tom

    Thomas,

Welcome to Team Titleist. I am a PGA Professional and have been with Titleist for many years. They are a great group to work with and you will really enjoy the product.

I have been fiddling with my choice of clubs as well and I think the best thing to do is to get fit by one of the Titleist fitters. I would find a demo day near you or ask your rep where the next closest one would be. I have used all models of the clubs from the AP2's to the MB. This season I planned to play the CB's but changed my mind when I hit the AP2's. I now go back and forth between the AP2's and the MB's.

All of them are outstanding and have great feel. As for the choice of shafts the KBS tours and the KBS c tapers will help you get the ball flight down and are a solid shaft.

    Good luck

Welcome!  We would recommend also talking with your rep, who can make sure you are fit into the right head and shaft.
