That's right Titleist... we need a tweener club between the AP1's and the AP2's. To do a proper mixed set, there is too much difference between the 1's ans 2's. Most players that like the AP2's will find too much offsett in the long irons of the AP1's. The AP1's are a great set as are the AP2's and they both appeal to a certain type of player. What we need is a club that is forged and based on the AP1 but with i slightly thinner sole and top line ( but more that the AP2 ) and reduced offset more like the AP2 but with more forgiveness of the AP1. So if you were able to make combo sets the short irons of the AP1.5 would work with the AP1's long irons and the AP1.5 long irons would better work with the AP2 mid and short irons. And of course each of the 3 sets would appeal to all golfers at any level. To be honest, this is the reason i don't play titleist irons. I play the 913 driver, 913 fd 3 wood and the 913 hd 18 deg hybrid nut your irons are either to tour player inspired or too mid handicap inspired... This 1.5 AP model would be the perfect 5-15 handicap club. A players club with added forgiveness with a choice of the 3 top steel shafts on the market... the dynamic gold R and S 300... the KBS tour in R or S... and of course the rifle Flighted 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 shafts.... I know your new lineup is coming so lets get busy building some AP1.5 prototypes for some guys to try. Thanks titleist!!!!!!!
