    Hello!

    I picked up this season 3 SM4 Vokey wedges. A 46*, 52* and 56*

My P-iron (712 MB) went waaay to long compared to my 9-iron and my 52* so I had to go with a Vokey, because even though the 46* is 1 degress stronger than the P-iron, which is 47* it carries a bit shorter, and I like that.

But I am thinking about bending my 46 a bit weaker to a 47* but does anyone of you have any experience in how many yards in carry 1 degree has to say?

    Looking forward to your answers...

3 yards, if that.   I played a 54-11 1* weak because the main purpose was to have a 55-12 wedge.  I now use a 54-14 at stock loft to even the gaps between GW and LW.

I've also played a 50-08 1* weak to match the loft and bounce of a DCI 981 GW with my main purpose being for long bunker shots in soft sand.   I made a mod by shortening the shaft 1/4" and setting it 1* strong - that gained about 5 yards vs 51* and the reason is because I now use AP1 irons.  It now actually works better for long bunker shots vs stock length and 1* weak AND I do better with bump n run shots and have a little extra yardage when I have to carry a greenside bunker from around 95 yards.

The main thing about playing a weaker loft is to increase the bounce and the stopping capability.
