I have Vokey wedges on my wish list for at least 3 years...but I've been in home improvement world and new energy efficient windows seemed more important in Minnesota so I've waited patiently until I could find a buying opportunity.  While I hope to eventually get a 60 degree, I decided to start out with a 54 degree to replace my stock sand wedge from my iron set.  I got the 2009 version since they were on sale, and opted for the black nickel finish.

I've only used it a few rounds so far, but MAN, this club is fantastic!  It's a little heavier than my other clubs, but my swing is already in the groove...and speaking of grooves, uh, I usually don't get a lot of action on my ball on chipshots, but I am now!  This will take a little getting used to, but I already know I'm going to be finding that 60 degree sooner rather than later.

Welcome home Vokey 54, welcome home. :-)

I have the Spin-Milled c-c 54-14.  Also played the 54-11 for over  a year.  Love both wedges.  I have the 54-14 bent to 53 degrees to fit in line with my AP1 irons.  I had the 54-11 bent to 55 when I used the Ping irons.  Both work well in soft sand and tight lies.

I just recently got the SM4 60-10 (bent to 59 deg).  It stops the ball just as well as my 62-07. This 60 is an awesome wedge.

I played the 2009 model 60-07 and 64-07 throughout 2010 and part of 2011.  I switched to a 62-07 because it did the job of both.

I have been playing a 50-08 gap wedge (had it set to 51 when I was using the Ping irons  and recently shortened it to 35 1/4" and bent it to 49 to fall in line with the AP1 lofts).  This particular wedge is a gem and a great alternative to the 48-06 because the shaft is shorter.

My first ever Vokey wedge was a Tour Chrome 58-12 that I used between 2007-2009.  It was my primary approach club.

I played CG15 DSG 58 and 64 through 2009 and went back to the Vokeys when I started varying where I played golf.  They were great, but not good off tight lies - so I went to the 60-07 and 64-07.  The reason I traded the 60-07 and 64-07 for the SM c-c 62-07 was the 60 was not good for high bunker shots in soft sand (but good off tight lies) and the 64 was great for pot bunkers with soft sand (but might as well use the 60 off tight lies because I had to deloft the 64 due to the composite grind sole).

With the 54-14 and 60-10, I play more of a digging shot on tight lies or wet/hard bunkers and can still do a sliding shot on a soft lie.  The 60 stops the ball dead because it has much more spin vs the Spin-Milled c-c.
