I'm a 3.5 handicap and I'm fourteen years old.  I finally convinced my dad to help me out with an upgrade from my r7s to a new set of AP2s or MBs.  The only thing is I don't know which to get.  I like the playablility of my current irons, but I want the consistency and workability of the CBs.  Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Hi Jacob,

I would suggest visiting a certified Titleist fitter to help you determine which irons will work best for your game. This way you'll be able to test both the AP2s and the CBs. Getting fit is really the best way to ensure you find the top performing irons for your game and it is a fun experience. You can give our club concierge team a call at 1-888-TITLEIST and they'll help find a fitter in your area.

    Best of luck!

Like Mike said, go hit them both. I'm a 3 also. I play the CBs. I've played them both. While playing my old 695 CBs. I bought a set of AP2s and liked them but put the CBs back in the bag and have never gone back. I am currrently playing a set of 710 CBs and will go with 712 CBs when I need a new set.

Be aware that with modern shaft technology, the shafts make a lot of difference. Thats the good thing about going to a fitter, you can hit them with the same shaft. If your dad is feeling very generous, have him send you to TPI for the fitting. Spectacular experience. The guys there are the best and they will fit you for the shaft and the club that fits your game.

However, if they took away my CBs, the AP2s is what I'd be playing. I wouldn't consider the MBs until your handicap goes positive. (maybe that's a typo) --Jerry
