  1. Hello,

    I´m 15 years old and a 3 handicapper.

    I have to decide beetwen a normal 712 CB PW or a SM4 46.08.

    Which one would go further? I swing my driver at 108-110 mph.

    I would think they would be the same depending on the model vokey. If the vokey is black nickel it may go a tad shorter if it is tour chrome or oil can the difference will be 1-2 yrds max. I would go with the vokey. I too am a junior golfer and I play combo cb and mb with sm4 pitching wedge

    I have the new 712 AP2's and I went with the 246.08 Vokey PW although it's not an SM4. I just feel like I have better control of it over the AP2 PW. I also play the 200 series Vokey 50 deg, 56 deg (bent to 55) and 60 deg (bent to 59) wedges all with Dynamic Gold S-300 shafts that are custom fit. Hope that helps! Randy
  4. Yes thanks for all the help.

    Why does the Black Nickel SM4 46.06 go shorter than the normal Tour Chrome?

    I bought the Black Nickel, like the finish more.

  5. Ok, thanks for all the information.

    One question, why does the Black Nickel go shorter than the Tour Chrome?

    My 9 iron is 45* (Eye 2) and I was having some thoughts about replacing it with an SM4 46-08 (bent 1* strong); however the main concern is how the SM4 performs on longer bunker shots in somewhat soft sand. My Eye 2 9 iron performs very well overall and I do a majority of my shots between 80-120 yards with it. I alternate with the 9 and the 50 from 100 yards in for the most part, depending on the situation (amount of real estate on the green, etc).
  7. Ok, thanks.

    I like the SM4 46 morebecaus emore spin and more feel, ordered it with a DG S300 so it would fit in as an iron PW.

    I will probably bend it to 47 so it will be the same loft as PW

    the distance isn't what you should worrie about. its the feel of the club and what you can do with it. People that play a 46 vokey are looking more at scoring and getting alittle more spin by using that club. the distance should fit in your yardage gaps. its a feel thing i would demo one and to around the pitching green and work see witch one works for you better

    it depends on the loft, length of the club and your ball speed...

    Christian;

    With you being a 3 handicapper I think you will be better off with a SM4 Vokey. Especially if you have other Vokey wedges in your bag. But you can base your choice on the loft on the CB (47*) vs the SM4 (46*)... plus the shaft on the Vokey are more stiff that will match your swing speed.

    The best think to do is to try them out on the range and on the course. On which will be the better one for you. Good luck.
