Is the 910h 17* hybrid with Bassara Hybrid 50 shaft suitable for an 11 handicap golfer with a driver swing speed of 88mph?

    absolutely

titleist products are not based on handicap. They are the best clubs in  the world. Test it and see how you like it. all your clubs features are your choice.

I agree with Nate. There are 20 handicappers on this forum that use triple x flex shafts and have swing speeds of 120 mph and there may be a few single digits that have 80 mph swing speeds and use A flex and carry an 11 wood (related to this, there are some LPGA golf pros that carry 11 woods and 6 iron hybrids). I have a friend who is approximately a 22 handicap that can hit a blade 3 iron but struggles with fairway woods and short game. Try the 17* hybrid. Also try a 19* or 21* fairway wood. I found out in 2006 (when upgrading to the "new technology") that I fared much better with a fairway wood vs a longer hybrid (just as a point of interest, Gary Player carries a 9 wood these days and stated one time that he would have won one more Masters had he had one in the bag).

The closest relationship between your game and the club is speed/launch angle and what the distance is. Lou and I have better luck getting a 21 degree fairway wood up than a 21 degree hybrid (primary reason - longer shaft = greater head speed). If you can get satisfactory loft and distance, then it works for you. My driver is a 12 degree, I get more distance with a 17 degree fairway than with a 15 degree fairway, only get more distance with the 17 than a 21 degree fairway off of a tee. But more distance with the 17 degree fairway than several 19 degree hybrids. Only because I could not launch those (any better than I can launch a 3 iron).

A driver-4W (17)-7W (21)-4H (24) is a setup that a few pros recommend for most golfers. I actually hit an 18* 5W straighter and a little bit farther than a 3 wood overall. I used to crush a persimmon 3 wood (they were 42" or so). I find out the ideal fairway wood is between 41-42" and the ideal hybrid is 37 1/2 - 38 1/2". I use a 13* draw driver that I tee up about 1 1/2" and hit it lower and farther than a 10.5 neutral driver. The rest of my long setup is 5W (18), 7W (21), 9W (23), 5H (26). Although I can hit the hybrids satisfactory for 18-24*, I hit the woods much farther. Also, there is almost no difference in distance between a 4H and 5H for me. Oh yeah, BTW, I have a set of Louisville persimmons (Niblick Vanguard 5/21 W, Even Stripe 10/28.5W and HL3 34 hybrid) with steel shafts and break them out once in a while. I shot 42 for 9 holes 1st time out with a 980F 3W and the two Louisville fairways.
