  1. I am currently in the process of purchasing a new Driver and Irons and would love to get some specifics on what would likely compliment my game best.  I am playing at an 8, but am confident that I will get down to a 3 by the end of summer.

I am debating between the D2 and D3 in 8.5.  My swing speed is 105-115 and play a power fade off the tee, but would like to feel more confident playing my draw. What would be the best head and shaft combo for my game?

I am also thinking about going 3-6 in the CBs and 7-PW in the MBs, as I have read great reviews on this combo.  As well as a 910H in 19 degrees.

Any advice would be much appreciated, all the best.

I would demo the drivers. There is a big difference. Personally I found the D2 gave me more distance and was a little more forgiving than the D3. Even the pro's mix them up -Rory is playing the D2 and Adam Scott is playing the D3 so horses for courses. On the irons, great choice. I do the same but with 4&5 in AP2 6-9 in MB's. Spend a little time on the shaft choice also (for both driver and irons). These are the real workhorse for the entire outfit. I like the GD ADI or the Romax for the driver and the KBS C Taper for the irons.

D3 is more workable and a little easier to control. D2 is for distance while still providing forgiveness and some workability. I play to a 7 and I use the d3. I hit 93% of my fairways. As for a CB and MB combo, I am getting those this summer. I am getting 4-6 in CB and 7-9 in MB and then getting a 46* vokey SM4 instead of a pitching wedge. I would get that because it will lower your costs and you get an easier to hit and longer 19* hybrid for a 3i. Hope this helps.

i am playing the D3 with a project X shaft and love it, also i just received the iron combo set that you are looking at, played once so far with it and love the blend, i have 4-6 in CB and 7-PW in MB with DG Tour Issue shafts x100, love them.. i agree wit the other post, must try the shafts or more importantly get fitted by a pro for them...makes a ton of diffference
