  1. Hi i´m 15 years old and need a new pair of irons, i´m a low handicaper(3) and need to choose either the MB or CB irons. I hit my current 7 iron around 140 yards, i hit them very high but nearly always flush. So what shafts would fit me?

I am afraid that the MB´s are to hard in the longer irons 4-5 iron.

    Benefits between the irons?

    Disadvantages?

    Thanks

  2. Christian,Why not get a blended set. As a 3 Hcp, you should have no trouble with the MBs in shorter irons. Why not go with MBs up to the 6 iron, then CBs for the 3-5 iron. I currently play with a blended set (Titleist ZBlends) that came out a few years ago that are set up this way, and I love them. I am about a 5 Hcp. Given they are both forged clubs, you wont feel that big of a difference in them (just make sure you use the same shaft for your entire iron set). Good luck

Christian, i am a zero hcp, and currently i play a blended set PW-7 MB, and6,5,4 CB, which is a good set, but....i have found some dislikes in the set. I am going st switch my 6 iron to the MB, and I am going to switch the 5 and 4 to AP2 712, which i feel are better than the CB, still a great top line, and one of the best faces out of any iron ive hit. Match up something similiar for you, with some project x 5.5 and you will be very happy!
  4. Ok i will try that thanks. I am probably only going to have a set 4-P so i´m considering the MB´s only.

I just checked up my stats, i have gone from 145y with my 7 iron to nearly 165y, so i am very happy.

Thanks for all the tips :)

Curious as to what you didn't like in the CB...I am interested in doing a blended set of MB and CB but your post has me curious about your feel for the CB

I justed wanted a little more forgiveness out f my long irons, those 200-220 par 3's are tough at 8 in the morning, so im switching my 4,5,6 to the 712 AP2, which still look great, but also perform great. Once im warmed up, i had no problem hitting big cuts and low stingers with the AP2. Love my MB's and considered playing those through 4 iron, but i realized i dont play golf in 85 degree weather as much as i play in 60 degree weather.

I have cb 710 3-PW and love them. THey are more forgiving than MB, MB will prob go a club further when flush. CB do have more forgiveness. I like how CB look for me.

Yes, compared to the CB's, the MB's won't be as forgiving...in any club. I play the MB's because I want maximum workability. You can still work the ball well with the CB's and they both feel GREAT!  There are TONS of shafts. Your best bet is to find a local Titleist fitter and get fit for the best irons that best fit  your game.

Impressive game for a 15 year old!  As for your irons, I agree with the other replies to this post: a blended set seems to be ideal.  In my opinion, I would try a stiff flex steel shaft for your irons.  I would assume you are going through high school and will probably experience increased swing speed and distance as your game matures, so a stiff flex will likely do the trick for your game.

    Best of luck,

    DH
