Hey guys, I have the 712 AP1 irons with VS Proto T-85 shafts and they are working well for me.   Main reason I got them is for shoulder and elbow pain.   50 Yrs old and play about 70 rounds a year.

That all said, seldom do I see graphite shafts in the Sand Wedge and Lob Wedge.....Is it a really bad idea or just not preferred by the masses?  Was thinking of the T-85's in the new SM4's????

You should have the same shafts in your wedges as the rest of your clubs. I have reshafted all of my 11 yr old son's irons, including his Vokey wedges, with graphite. Go for it. --Jerry

Probably because not a lot of the golfing population thinks about reshafting a wedge. Most buy them off the shelf (nor do they have the lie angles adjusted; I play my 50 and 54 wedges 1/2* upright and my 58 and 62 1* upright to fall in line with the rest of my irons). Also keep in mind that a graphite-shafted wedge needs to be 1/2" longer to maintain the same swingweight as a steel-shafted wedge. I'm 54 myself.
