I currently play I10 irons but am switching to Titleist 712 CB's.  My I10's are 1 degree stronger than the CB's and I hate the thought of losing any distance.  Would adding a degree of loft to my CB's negatively affect anything (I've heard Titleist goes to great lengths to design the lofts such that they are in perfect harmony with the specific iron characteristics??)

    Any advise would be appreciated.

You can bend your CB irons 1° strong (you are taking away loft, not adding).  The side effect of that would be that you lower the bounce the equivalent amount.   There are other factors that are going to contribute to distance other than loft, although loft contributes the most.  Length, material of head, type of shaft, etc.  The i10 is cast out of a harder steel than a forged carbon steel.  What gives the CB's it's feel is the softness of the metal.  You may not get as much distance out of a forged CB as you do out of an i10 even if the lofts are the same.  They are not made for distance, but for feel and workability.  If you would like the name of a fitter in your area, give us a call and we would be happy to help.  1-888-TITLEIST

Thanks Cathi. I have been fitted already and loved the CB's.  I was just looking to try and provide myself with similar distances to my current setup.  I am definitely more interested in feel and workability, hence why I like the CB's.
